Lunar Shrines are special shrines that will help you build up some Ancestors' favor during the Lunar Awakening. To find them, look around Sanctuary or within dungeons. Sometimes, they spawn during world events. With the Ancestor's Favor Affix, you will indeed find a Lunar Shrine in Nightmare Dungeons.
Lunar Shrines - How to find them
Lunar Shrines appear randomly all over the Sanctuary. You can notice them on your minimap, as they are marked with a purple asterisk. However, not every Sanctuary shrine will convert to a Lunar Shrine during the Lunar Awakening event. You can quickly check on your minimap to see if the shrine is marked purple before you try to clean it.
Another reliable place to find Lunar Shrines is the Dungeons. However, standard Dungeons and Vaults have a slim chance to give you a Lunar Shrine. If you want to discover a Lunar Shrine for sure, you need a Nightmare Sigil with Ancestor's Favor Affix. That's the best way to have a Dungeon filled with Lunar Shrines. The downside is that it takes a lot of grinding to obtain that Sigil.
Lunar Shrines Types and Effects
When you find a Lunar Shrine, be ready to be buffed a lot. The Lunar Shrine buffs are as follows:
- A unique power bonus based on the Shrine type
- Ancestral Favor Event Reputation per Monster Kill
- +30% Movement Speed
- +50% XP per Monster Kill
There are seven different Lunar Shrine types that give you an additional power bonus.
- Artillery Shrine gives you a chance to summon a holy bomb.
- Channeling Shrine makes your attacks faster and gives you the possibility to reset cooldowns.
- Blast Wave Shrine makes you pulse and drop cluster bombs. Protection Shrine reflects all damage in accordance with your level and world tier.
- Greed Shrine summons a Treasure Goblin on every 25 kills.
- Lethal Shrine can make you instantly kill a monster and cast Fear on others.
- Conduit Shrine summons mighty shock strikes.
