Diablo 4 Season 3 Tier List – Best Classes & Builds

Let's go.

With Season 3 of Diablo 4, we have once again been graced with the opportunity to start anew with a brand new seasonal character. While no doubt everything class in Season 3 has some value to playing it, there must always be a standard, a meta of sorts, to which classes and builds stand atop all others.

All classes for Diablo IV Season of Construct ranked

Season of Construct brought about balance changes for every class. As such, this tier list is a reflection of these changes in the game state in which Season of Construct is built. While the construct companion does help improve every class's performance, it is not being considered here due to its unique, customizable nature that is largely based on preference.

Best Diablo IV Season 3 Class (S Tier)

Barbarian (Upheaval/Deathblow)

Barbarians have historically been extremely strong during the endgame of Diablo 4, and that does not change with Season 3. Specifically, Upheaval remains a staple build that has little problem dealing with any situations you'd find yourself dealing with in later content. A big part of this relates to the Violent Upheaval passive, which allows for extremely easy access to Beserking at practically any given point.

Upheaval, coupled with Deathblow, is just an extremely powerful boss-stomping skill, especially if its two passives, Enhanced Deathblow and Fighter's Deathblow are taken.

Best Diablo IV Season 3 Class (A Tier)

Sorcerer (Blizzard)

Sorcerers have not had the greatest track record for potency in Diablo 4's endgame, but that changes with the Blizzard build as the focus for the class this season. Unlike the Barbarian build above that has a focus on boss killing with decent wave clear, this build focuses on Speed Farming, or killing a large number of enemies very fast to get the most possible loot drop chances.

Blizzard and Deep Freeze are the build's core skills, which allow for constant crowd control and damage with little necessary maintenance. Aspect of the Frozen Tundra is especially important as it is the main component that turns Deep Freeze into a powerful AOE ability with a cooldown.

Shatter is an equally important Passive for this build, as it causes frozen enemies to explode for Ice damage after the frozen status expires.

Best Diablo IV Season 3 Class (B Tier)

Necromancer (Bonespear)

Bonespear has had a checkered history through Diablo 4 due to once being considered overpowered by a majority of the community. While the ability has been toned down, it remains Necromancer's greatest skill in terms of build potential, as the damage output it can dish out is still widely considered to be overturned. The unique helmet, Deathless Visage, is practically a requirement for this build, as its passive ability significantly boosts your overall damage by just continuing to use Bonespear.

Splintering Aspect is a compounding type of Aspect that only accelerates the power gain from Deathless Visage—thus it also being a requirement. Finally, the Ossified Essence passive is by far the best to take for Bonespear, as it provides a consistent damage boost just by using the ability with Essence, something you will always do.

Best Diablo IV Season 3 Class (C Tier)

Druid (Lightning Storm)

Druids, as a whole class, have had a checkered history throughout Diablo 4, with many considering the class to be the weakest out of all classes. In Season 3, the Lightning Storm build is the strongest build it has when it comes to sheer wave clear. The two core Skills for the builds are Lightning Storm and Earthen Bulwark.

With Lightning Storm, taking both the skill's passives, Enhanced Lightning Storm and Raging Lightning Storm, greatly improves its wave clear, the point of the build. You'll also want to take Nature's Fury, as it majorly improves resource efficiency due to earning free casts for Storm and Earth skills. The unique helmet, Tempest Roar, also helps with this, allowing you to spam more skills much more often, improving wave clear.

Finally, Earthen Bulwark sees constant use due to the effect of the Symbiotic Aspect, effectively reducing its cooldown every time Nature's Fury off of Lightning Storm.

Rogue (Penetrating Shot/Shadow Imbue)

Rogues have had a few meta builds throughout Diablo 4's history, and this build is one of them, though it was previously overshadowed by the Twisting Blades meta of the last few seasons. The core ability for the build is Penetrating Shot, which is a hard-hitting, auto-piercing Skill that can be used consistently.

Penetrating Shot is to be used with the Precision Passive ability, granting it a massive damage boost when launched during the final Precision stack. For wave clear, this rotation is coupled with Shadow Imbuement, granting the build a very healthy wave clear just through the skill build alone. These two core features are further boosted by the use of the Trickshot Aspect, allowing for weaker versions of Penetrating Shot to be launched after hitting a target with Penetrating Shot. All these core aspects together allow for this build to exceed at wave clear and boss slaying as needed.

It is this low on the tier list because the other four builds tend to perform better when the content gets harder. Shadow Imbuement requires targets to die for it to take effect, but if enemies are not dying fast enough, then this build's wave suffers in a major way that has no alternative way of fixing. Thus, up-to-date gear is a requirement for making good use of this build in the endgame.
