Blood Harvests are Diablo 4: Season of Blood's variant of Helltides from the base game (only you're facing off against bloodsucking vampires instead of the overwhelming forces of Hell). But if Blood Harvests are like Helltides, how do they differ?
How does Blood Harvest work in Diablo 4 Season of Blood?
Blood Harvests effectively function like Helltides, but there are a few twists to the formula that make it unique for this season. One key difference is the actual items you're collecting while participating. In Blood Harvests, you'll be killing vampires for two specific drops:
- Blood Lure - Used on Blood Lure Pedestals located around Blood Harvest areas
- Seeker's Key - Used on Seeker's Caches throughout a Blood Harvest
These two items are paramount to getting rewards from a Blood Harvest event because you'll be using them to open their various outlets for the greatest loot drops. Blood Lure Pedestals function very similarly to Helltide Chest in that you need to have enough Blood Lures to open one. Each pedestal requires a different amount, with higher-cost ones rewarding the best loot.
Seeker Caches are new to this type of event but serve as an additional source of rewards on top of the normal content. These caches are not marked on the map but are easy to spot in passing due to how large they are. You should always use your Seeker's Keys on a cache if you see one.
What rewards come from Blood Harvest in Diablo 4 Season of Blood?
Blood Harvests rewards a very wide assortment of useful items for collection. Since they are a varient of Helltides, Blood Harvests still reward you with the standard crafting materials for altering your gear. Most important, Blood Harvests are a central event in the Season of Blood, and thus also drop Seasonal items:
- Pacts - While Pacts come on gear, they also commonly drop from Caches during a Blood Harvest. These lootable Pacts can be used to add Pact effects to your gear.
- Potent Blood - The main resource for Season of Blood, Potent Blood is used to unlock or upgrade Vampiric Powers at random, allowing you to bypass other unlock requirements as the offset.
