A friend in need.

Disney Dreamlight Valley multiplayer allows you to show off your kingdom to your friends and hang out together. However, if the feature isn’t working for you, read on for ways to fix it.

Before we start, it’s important to note that while crossplay between platforms is possible across PC, Apple, Xbox, and Switch devices, it isn’t available to you if you’re on PlayStation. For now, PlayStation players can only play multiplayer with other PS players. If that’s not your issue, see below.

You’ll need to first gain access to multiplayer in Disney Dreamlight Valley. If you haven’t done this yet, you’ll need to activate this feature by completing some quests. For all the details, check out How to unlock Multiplayer in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

If you’ve done this and aren’t trying to hook up with a friend on PlayStation from a different device, the chances are you have an internet connectivity issue. With so many games needing to be online now, it’s easy to forget that you can play DDV offline unless you’re playing multiplayer. Take the following steps:

  1. Restart Disney Dreamlight Valley: Sometimes things just burp! Switch off your device completely, restart it, and restart DDV. It may be a cliche, but it's funny how often simply switching it off and then on again works.
  2. Check if the DDV multiplayer service is down: You can check the game’s connectivity status. The easiest way to do this is to head to the official @DisneyDLV X account, as any issues the game has will be posted and updated there.
  3. Check your device’s internet connection: You’ll need to do this differently depending on the device you’re using to play Disney Deamlight Valley. Try playing another online game on the same device first. If that works, check the DDV server status again (2, above) and if it seems to be OK, try reinstalling DDV. If other games aren’t working either, see if other devices connected to the same internet network are working.
  4. Restart your router: If your device isn’t connecting to the internet at all, and especially if other devices aren’t connecting too, it’s likely a router or modem issue. Switch off your device, then switch off your modem or router at the wall. Wait a minute or two, then restart the modem or router. Wait for it to fully reconnect, then turn o your gaming device.
