How to unlock Mike and Sulley in Disney Dreamlight Valley

It's all laughs and giggles with these monsters!

The Laugh Floor update brought us little changes, like changing our names, but the best new additions are some of my favorite Disney characters—Mike and Sulley! Here's how to unlock them!

Disney Dreamlight Valley How to get Mike and Sulley

Just like all other Villagers, as they are added to the game, you must complete some initial quests to help them out before inviting them back to your Valley. Mike and Sully are in the Monster's Inc Realm to begin, so to find them, the first step is unlocking the Monster's Inc Realm.

To unlock the Monster's Inc Realm, head to the Dreamlight Castle and up the first two flights of stairs until you see the Monster's Inc logo on the door covered with Night Thorns. You can unlock the door with Merlin's help using 15,000 Dreamlight. Once you do that, you will begin the first initial quest to unlock Sulley and Mike "Escape Claws."

You will enter the Monster's Incorporated building when you take the portal into the Monster's Inc Realm. However, Mike and Sulley are nowhere to be seen in this area. You'll need to head onto the Laugh Floor.

How to get into the Laugh Floor

A large metal door seals off the Laugh Floor; you must be scanned as a monster employee to open it. The only way to be seen as a monster is to dress the part and disguise yourself.

First, you can just head over to the lockers in the right corner of the room near the portal entrance. Inside, you will find a bundle of new cosmetics that will help you look the role. Then, as you always do to change your character, open your Wardrobe menu and put on the Monster's Inc. hard hat and some monster ears. It's up to you if you want to go the full mile and change your skin and eyes to match!

Take a selfie to show off your new look, and then head back up to the door to scan yourself and enter the Laugh Floor.

How to clean the Laugh Floor

Sulley and Mike will need some help clearing up the Laugh Floor before anything else. There are two types of messes that you'll need to clean: Slug Slime Puddles and Party Trash. These are found all around the Laugh Floor as green goop and piles of cans.

The Slug Slime puddles can be cleaned using your Watering Can. Just approach them and water down the slime to get rid of it.

The Party Trash can be cleaned up much more straightforwardly; all you need to do is approach it and interact with it to stomp it into oblivion.

After you finish cleaning up the trash, return to Sulley to get your next objective: make some coffee! The most intern thing you could do, but slightly more interesting since this is no ordinary coffee.

How to make the Wazowski Special and Sulley's Coffee

Mike and Sulley take their coffee differently, wanting specific ingredients, as explained by Sulley. All these ingredients are found right on the table in the Reception area alongside the Coffee Machine.

Mike's coffee is a little more complicated to make and requires the following ingredients added into the Coffee Machine:

  • Coffee x1
  • Sugar x3
  • Non-dairy Screamer x1

Sulley's coffee is much simpler, and all you will need is Coffee x5.

Once you have those made, bring them to the two monsters on the Laugh Floor, and they can officially start getting to work. However, it wouldn't be a day in Dreamlight Valley without a surprise catastrophe. You must now help Sulley repair the power to get Mike out of the human world.

Where to find the Emergency Manual

The power is busted, but to figure out how to repair it, Sulley needs your help in finding the Emergency Manual, which is hidden somewhere around the office.

You can find it in the second workstation area on the desk. The book will be glowing to help you find it more easily. With the book, you can return to Sulley to begin repairing the power.

How to replace and correct the power flow

This may seem like a complicated puzzle, but it just comes down to finding the three fuses and ensuring all the cables are connected. First, here's where to find all the fuses:

  • On the red tool chests at the back left corner of the Laugh Floor
  • At the first workstation desk
  • At the last workstation desk

Then, place all the Fuses into the power box where Sulley is standing. Now, you'll need to connect all the cables together and make sure they are plugged into the wall. There is no correct order you need to connect them in. The goal is to interact with each plug point. You can move the carts out of the way if you need to.

Once they are all connected, the power will be restored, and Mike will be freed! Sulley now trusts you, even though you have to break it to him that you're human, and is ready to return to the Valley. However, you'll need to help Mike with his own project first.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Eyes on the Prize Quest Guide

Mike's quests are all about helping him get a Laugh record. To do this, he'll need your help gathering clues on how to get the best laughs for each door. First, you need to track down some keycards for the doors, which happen to be locked up in the Reception office.

How to get into Reception

Unfortunately, the door to Reception is busted, meaning to get inside, you'll need to find a way to repair it. Thankfully, you can find the tools right on the Laugh Floor. Head to the very back left corner and look inside the red tool chests to find them. Then, return to the Reception door to use them.

You need the keycards on the main desk near the open window. Grab them and take them to Mike to start tracking down clues.

There will be three doors to check: Door F2, F3, and F4. Each one will have different types of clues to find, and here's where they all are:

All Clue locations in Door F2

In this door, all you need to do is locate the drawings hanging around the room.

  • Clue 1: On the wall beside the bed
  • Clue 2: On the wall next to the bedroom door
  • Clue 3: Behind the red curtain

All Clue locations in Door F3

Behind this door, to find the clues, you will need to take specific photos with items in the room.

  • Clue 1: The Astrojet poster above the dresser
  • Clue 2: Space Ranger book on the floor beside the bookcase
  • Clue 3: The lit stars on the ceiling above the bed

All Clue locations in Door F4

Door F4 is the most different out of the others because you must collect a physical clue. However, you only need one item. To find it, break the junk piles on the floor until a red balloon falls out. For me, it was the junk pile closet to the bedroom door.

How to get all the Sodas

Now that you have all the clues found for Mike to come up with his skits, he just needs a few more items to get started: Soda. He'll send you on a hunt to collect three different kinda Sodas in the three vending machines around the office. Here's how to get them:

Red Soda

The Red Soda is the easiest to collect. It's located right next to the Realm portal. Just approach it and interact to use one of the coins that Mike gave you. Inside, you can grab the Red Soda and some extra red-themed treats.

Blue Soda

The blue vending machine is next to the red machine, but it works differently. Instead, to open the storage and grab the Blue Soda, interact with the blue switch on the wall beside it.

Green Soda

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

This vending machine you don't have a coin for, but you can put your handy Dream Tools to good use. You can find it inside the Reception office, then, select your Pickaxe from your tool wheel and give it a good whack to open it up and grab the Green Soda.

After you give Mike the soda, you are pretty much in the homestretch of bringing Mike and Sulley to the Valley. Like always, you must first place down their home somewhere in the Valley. This can be in any of the Biomes you like, but it will cost you 20,000 Star Coins to construct with Scrooge.

Once Mike and Sulley have a home to go to, take a quick selfie with Mike at the Laugh Foor, and you can welcome both of them into the Valley. They will have plenty more rewards and quests for you to complete after this, so keep working on building their friendship!
