Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince Seed Farming Guide

Seeds = Vitamin = Stronger Monsters

Seeds in The Dark Prince play a similar role to Vitamins in the Pokémon franchise—permanently increasing specific stats of a monster in your party. In this guide, I'll provide various Seed Farming tips in Dragon Quest Monster The Dark Prince.

How to farm Seeds in Dragon Quest Monsters The Dark Prince

The fastest way to get Seeds in The Dark Prince is to release monsters you capture or hatch back into the wild. However, this does not guarantee that you'll get specific seeds in return, as seed drops will always be random.

Our preferred method is about hoarding one of each monster species you encounter during your exploration and bulk-releasing them all at once. It's the most efficient way of getting a bunch of seeds with the least wasted time.

Here are some tips and a general Seed Farming template for an optimized run:

  1. Prepare your party with powerful monsters, preferably ones who have the highest strength and wisdom stat available at your disposal.
  2. Scout as many monsters as you can within the human world while changing seasons and moving through various different areas. Remember, do not focus on a single monster species.
  3. Synthesize and level up your actual team, and keep all the monsters you've scouted in the Storage. By the time your main team gets to level 100, the monsters in the storage will be around level 70+.
  4. Since the seed drops are random, I highly recommend save-scumming before releasing them so you can always backtrack if the outcome is not in your favor.
  5. Once they've reached level 70+, teleport back to the tower and release all of them. You should get a ton of Seeds (i.e. about three seeds per level 55+ monsters and one seed if below that level threshold.)

As an optional tip, you can always scout within the Lower Echelons! Bigger level gaps mean bigger stat gaps.

If this method is too time-consuming for you, you can always hunt specific monsters that drop Seeds (i.e. Slime, Wing Slime, Feralball, Bunicorn, etc.). However, I recommend you treat this as a last resort or if you're only looking to farm a specific type of Seed, as monsters rarely drop seeds, even with drop-rate boosting accessories.
