#DRIVE Rally, the follow-up to mobile darling #DRIVE, from Pixel Perfect Dude, has had its release date announced, and it's going to be here sooner than you'd think.
#DRIVE Rally, announced some time ago, finally had a release date reveal at the Gamescom Awesome Indies Showcase, and it's coming just over a month away on the 25th of September. Inspired by the pop culture of the late 80's and early 90's, #DRIVE Rally is all about driving, mud, more driving, and getting firm but fair critique from a likely underpaid co-driver.
This will be only the second time the team behind the game has released anything for platforms other than mobile and Switch (the other being the VR version of their mobile game Ski Jump), which #DRIVE Rally will notably be absent from. #DRIVE Rally will be coming to a bunch of platforms too, including Steam (including the Steam Deck), GOG, the Epic Games Store, and it'll even be coming to MacOS and Linux based systems (through Steam only), which is wonderful news for all you proper nerds out there.
The game is, strangely enough, an arcade rally racing game, but has the aesthetic charm of something like Pacific Drive as opposed to the gritty realism of WRC from EA. There'll be plenty to play with at launch too, with up to 24 tracks in each of the four settings, 12 unique vehicles with a bunch of variations, four Championships and even four fully voiced co-drivers to tell you what a terrible job you're doing.
As it's launching into Early Access, #DRIVE Rally will be seeing even more stuff added to it post EA launch, with additional cars, tracks, co-drivers, livery customization, and new Championships. There is only about five fine folks on the team though, so it's uncertain when new content will be coming out post launch.
