Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree boasts several exciting new weapon types. The Light Greatsword is one of these new weapon types you should definitely pay attention to. The good news is that you can find one early on in the DLC named Milady. This guide will show you how.
Milady Light Greatsword location in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
The Milady Light Greatsword can be found by heading to the Castle Front entrance. The quickest way to reach it is to start at the Castle Front Site of Grace situated on the northeast side of the Gravesite Plain in the Land of the Shadow. To find this specific Site of Grace, simply open your map and look for the long bridge titled the Ellac Greatbridge. This bridge is located just northeast of the Three-Path Cross Site of Grace.
When you arrive at the Castle Front, keep heading northeast over another smaller bridge that heads directly straight into the castle. You’ll then come face to face with a Giant Knight guarding the entrance. This guy can be punishing if you don't have the proper equipment or aren't at a higher level, so you can always run past him and avoid him entirely. Once you've dealt with him, look to your left to find a staircase that wraps behind several buildings on your left.
Don't worry, you're almost there. Now run left around the side of the building where you will discover another set of small wooden stairs which lead up to the roof. You will now have to face a standard Knight enemy patrol, who isn't too challenging, so deal with him before heading up the stairs. Straight ahead of you will be yet another ladder that heads up into a tower. Climb this ladder to find a chest with the Milady Light Greatsword in it. The screenshot above shows you exactly where to find the weapon.
Light Greatsword (Milady) explained
As I mentioned, the Milady is a type of Light Greatsword in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree. The Light Greatsword is a new weapon type and I can't recommend it highly enough (but also be sure to check out the new martial arts fighting style in the DLC).
These swords have the reach of regular Greatswords but are much lighter and therefore easier to swing. Your attacks will therefore be much faster but not pack as much of a punch as standard Greatswords. But what's cool is that Light Greatswords, including Milady, use both Strength and Dexterity, whereas Greatswords only use Strength.
What's also worth mentioning is that the Milady Light Greatsword also has the Impaling Thrust skill, allowing you to pierce armaments and break through enemy shields. To make full use of this skill, first build power and then lunge forward for a powerful thrust that will cut through an enemy’s guard. The Milady is therefore a great and obvious choice against any shield-wielding enemies.
