After beating the Divine Beast Dancing Lion boss in Shadow of the Erdtree, your next stop should be Castle Ensis. It is east of the Belurat Tower, Settlement where you face the Divine Beast Dancing Lion. Initially after defeating the Dancing Lion, you'll find a lift that leads you to the Tower of Shadow. But, you find that it's blocked by black thorns.

The Tower of Shadow is essential to progress through Shadow of the Erdtree's story so it's quite confusing as to why it's blocked and there is no information on how to open it. But, luckily, you'll find a clue nearby. You'll also find a letter by Needle Knight Leda near the blocked thorns that says that the Gate of Divinity lies in the tower and that's where Miquella is headed. To get there, they will follow the crosses east.

While it's not clear what they meant by east, it happens to be Castle Ensis. At the Three-Path Cross Site of Grace, you'll be able to see Castle Ensis in the distance so you won't have to travel very far. It's directly east of Belurat; it's very easy to get there through the Ellac Greatbridge.

You'll stumble upon some really powerful enemies while going to that area including a Furnace Golem so be prepared. After you've reached Castle Ensis, you'll have to defeat the next major story boss Rellana, Twin Moon Knight. Then, you'll have access to the Scadu Altus, which is essential to progress through the DLC's story.
