Ember Knights gives players a lot of gold but doesn't tell them how to spend it. It's likely that you won't find the area you can spend it in until you've gone through a few playthroughs.
When can I use Gold in Ember Knights?
When you defeat Mini-bosses, you'll be taken to a shop with a few items for sale. You can only access this shop once or twice per area, and it only sells Relics that you have already unlocked. If you play alone, you can normally purchase two items.

Gold prices are normally multiples of 75, with 75 being the cheapest, and moving up to 125, 225, etc. If you play with others, you may have enough gold to buy one item each or, consequently, not enough for everyone to get something.
We recommend you budget your money and determine what Relics are worth it for you based on your skills. Several Relics only work with certain skills, so it may be wise to just walk away when nothing matches your playstyle.
