  • From the Workbench Upgrade menu, unlock Advanced Progression II.
  • This will unlock an option to craft a Fishing Rod (Materials required: 2x Wood and 1x Steel)

And that's it, you are ready to catch your first fish. In order to start fishing, you'll first need to find a fishing spot. We'll cover all Duckov fish locations later in this guide. For now, let's see how this mini game actually works, step-by-step:

  • Find a fishing location (it's usually a dock atop a body of water).
  • Hover with your mouse over it, and you will be prompted to press F.
  • Two circles should appear.
  • Wait for the two circles to align perfectly (overlap) and then quickly press space at that exact moment to reel in.
  • A text bubble will appear, notifying you which fish you've caught.

All Duckov Fishing Locations

Before we proceed, we would like to emphasize that this section of our guide is a work in progress. Just like you, we're also grinding our way through the game, and as we progress further and discover more locations, we will make sure to update our guide. For now, here you will find all Duckov fish locations for the first area of the game, Ground Zero, as well as all the important details about those locations.

Bunker - Safehouse Dock

This is the fishing spot inside your safehouse (bunker). It's located below the main bunker area and can be accessed via the stairs to the right of the main bunker entrance. It is available immediately upon starting your run. However, you will not be able to fish there until you unlock fishing. Here's all you need to know about this Duckov fish location.

  • By far the safest place to fish in the game, as it is located inside your safehouse, meaning there is no enemy activity. You can fish as long as you want, and nothing will attack you.
  • This is essentially a sewer canal, which means there are very few fish there, especially in terms of variety. You will understand this as soon as you read the first Fishing Note located next to the dock.
  • Use this dock to learn fishing, but be mindful not to spend too much time here, as it will not yield good results.

Ground Zero - North Mountain Dock

This is likely the first fishing dock you'll encounter on your journey outside, and you might not even realize that you can fish there since you won't have a fishing rod equipped at this point in the game. However, if you pay attention, you can find a note there. This is one of the three fishing notes in the area, and it will provide you with clues about the finishing conditions, an aspect of fishing we will discuss later. Key details to know:

  • The safest place to fish in the outside world, due to low enemy activity in the area, meaning you probably won't be interrupted while trying to catch a fish you need.
  • It's located relatively close to the northern extraction point and the teleport leading to the main entrance of your bunker.
  • You can find Fishing Note 3 at this location. Be sure to read it for information about day and night conditions for Duckov fishing spots.

Ground Zero - Road Camp Dock

The Ground Zero map features one of the most challenging fishing spots, known as the Road Camp dock. This area is heavily populated with duck mercenaries and various other enemies that present a significant threat. We recommend starting to fish here around level 10, as attempting to do so at a lower level can be quite difficult based on our experience with the game. Here’s what you should know about this Duckov fishing location:

  • The most dangerous area in the early game. Do not travel there before at least level 10 and some upgraded gear.
  • Be prepared for combat, as the area is full of Ground Zero late-stage enemies.
  • Fishing here will yield higher-quality fish, in addition to a greater variety. If you are wondering where to catch Sardines in Duckov, this is the place.
  • For optimal results, upgrade your fishing skills and use high-quality rods and bait.

All Duckov Bait Types - Complete Guide

If you're unsure where to find fish bait in Duckov, don't worry, we've got you covered. Escape from Duckov offers some truly unusual bait types, many of which you might not expect to use for fishing. Duckov Bait Farming Tips

When starting the game, one essential tool to craft is a shovel. Always carry a shovel with you, as it enables you to dig hiding holes. These holes are guaranteed to contain one or two earthworms along with other valuable items. On the other hand, fishing with Toilet Cleaner, Batteries, and Lighters as bait works exactly as it sounds. Avoid using these unless you are targeting a specific fish, as outlined above.

Best Duckov Bait, Weather, and Daytime for Each Type of Fish

The rapidly expanding Duckov community has been actively playing the game day and night over the past few days, uncovering numerous secrets and mechanics that they generously share with fellow players. One notable community member, Steam user [ESP] Fox, has contributed valuable insights about the best baits for each type of fish in Duckov, as well as information on spawn times, optimal weather conditions, and the ideal times of day for fishing. Check out the table below to see what we’ve learned from him.

Duckov Fishing Upgrades & Tips

Last but not least, if you want to catch better and rarer fish types, you will need to upgrade your fishing abilities, which will boost your fishing skills and make it easier to catch those elusive Red Bigeyes and Azure Galaxias. So, how to upgrade fishing in Duckov? Follow these steps:

  • Build the Kitchen in your bunker. The quest to bring the cook and unlock the kitchen becomes available once you build the Gym.
  • When the Kitchen is up and running, talk with Vogo the cook, and he'll give you fishing-related quests.
  • One of these quests will be Upgrade Fishing Rod. You will also unlock upgrades related explicitly to fishing, allowing you to catch fish faster and give more leeway with timings.

One of these fishing-related quests will be Fishing Novice, and it seems that many players are unsure where to catch Sardines in Duckov, which you need to complete this quest. It turns out they don't have any specific requirements, so you just need to be persistent. With a little bit of luck, you will catch one. Just make sure not to fish inside the bunker, as they will likely not spawn there.

Storage Tip: craft barrels to save some space in your storage. They provide additional backspace space for inventory. Fish can also be an excellent money farm strategy in the early game. If you focus on high-value fish and quick, fishing-only runs, you can yield up to 800 credits per run from fishing from good Duckov fish locations.
