Cait Sith is not the easiest character to play in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, especially when you just get him, but it is the most fun. One of the reasons is the unpredictability of its attacks, much like Roll o’ the Dice. Here’s a list of its effects.
Cait Sith dice roll effects list - Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Roll o’ the Dice can roll a number between 1 to 6. All of them have pretty good effects sans 2, which is just useless, not bad. Here’s a list of its effects.
Number | Effect |
1 | Fire & Thunder on all enemies |
2 | Hypurr Beam; this is the long distance move Cait Sith performs when you dodge + Attack. In other words, it's a dud. |
3 | Aero & Blizzard on all enemies |
4 | Total Outrage; allows Cait Sith to deal more damage but also receive more damage in return |
5 | Regenerative Aura; casts Regen on Cait Sith |
6 | Expansive Shield; casts Barrier on Cait Sith and raises its DEF |

Roll o’ the Dice sample strategies - FF7 Rebirth
The good thing about Roll o’ the Dice is how you can manipulate the number that appears by knocking it around before it settles. Because of this, you can take advantage of truly astounding moves for just 1 ATB gauge, depending on the situation.
For example, the AoE magic numbers are super useful in the Colosseum and Corel Prison Battleground, where they pit you against a dozen enemies at once.
You also have to realize that with a proper roll, this move is basically a 5-in-1 treat. You can use it to cast Regen and Barrier on Cait Sith and make its Moogle take on some aggro with the rest of your party attack. Cait Sith is a very flexible party member who can fit most comps!
