Full Combat Guide for Yuffie in FF7 Rebirth

Yuffie is a speedy and agile character who uses her Ninjutsu skills as elementals. She switches between physical and magic attacks, changes elemental damage, uses Art of War to boost her attacks, and can dodge attacks with her Brumal Form.

Below is the full breakdown of Yuffie's combat prowess in FF7 Rebirth.

Yuffie General Gameplay Overview

Yuffie subverts the division of FF7 Rebirth characters to melee and ranged fighters because she can do both. She can also change her attack's elemental type with Ninjutsu, allowing you to pressure any enemies with an elemental weakness.

With Ninjutsu activated, Yuffie can throw her Shuriken and press the attack button (square) to inflict elemental damage on the enemy. This ability and combo make her very versatile in battles, as she is a major DPS threat to the enemies.

Best Yuffie abilities and how they work

Ninjutsu

Ninjutsu is Yuffie's ability that infuses her long-ranged magic attacks with elemental damage. At the cost of ATB scale points, Yuffie can enhance her attacks with fire, wind, ice, or lightning elements. The icon on Yuffie's health bar will change depending on which element she is using.

Yuffie can choose which element she will use for her attacks, and with Ninjutsu, she can attack the enemies' weaknesses without having to use spells.

Brumal Form

Brumal Form is Yuffie's unique defensive stance that allows her to dodge enemies' attacks. Not only that, but Brumal Form gives Yuffie an additional ATB charge with every successful dodge. This ability is entirely defensive, so it doesn't deal damage but adds an invincibility frame to Yuffie when activated.

Art of War

Art of War is Yuffie's ability that enhances her damage when used as a combo starter or connector. You can start a combo with Art of War or use it to connect two consecutive attacks. Attacks performed after you use Art of War will be significantly stronger. You can even use Art of War twice in a row, and the second one will be the enhanced version, Supreme Art of War.

Doppelganger

After a short cast time, Yuffie summons a clone of herself. The clone mirrors Yuffie's action on the battlefield, so you're essentially doubling every action you take with Yuffie, even normal attacks! This is one of the best skills in Yuffie's arsenal as you're doubling your DPS, and pressure potential with Ninjutsu.

How to use Yuffie in Combat like a pro

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Yuffie is a combo-heavy character, much like Tifa, but I figured out a simple way how I can use all of her abilities to maximize her damage potential in a battle. Here's how you can use Yuffie in combat like a pro:

  1. Build up the entire ATB gauge (preferably with the First-Strike Materia).
  2. Cast Assess and check for elemental weaknesses. If you already know the elemental weakness of the enemy, skip this step.
  3. Use Ninjutsu to switch to the elemental weakness of the enemy.
  4. Throw Shuriken (Triangle) and mash the attack button (Square) until you build another ATB gauge.
  5. Use Doppelganger, preferably before the stagger gauge is filled up.
  6. Stay at a distance, and keep mashing Square until you build up two ATB gauges.
  7. On enemy stagger, close in on the enemy with Triangle to retrieve the Shuriken, and use Art of War twice.
  8. If there are multiple enemies, like in the Cactuar Crush minigame, use Windstorm for crowd control and massive wind damage.
  9. Repeat until the enemy is defeated.

Since Yuffie relies on physical attacks on top of the elemental damage she outputs through her Shuriken, I recommend using Crystalline Cross as your main weapon once you acquire it. You can also increase her crit chance by equipping armor, accessories\, and materias which add Luck.
