Final Fantasy 16 Wind Shard – How to use it

It was a tough fight.

If you find yourself at Cid’s Highway eager to get the next best weapon, then you'll probably want to get your hands on an item called the Wind Shard. The Wind Shard allows you to craft Stormcry, a powerful Eikonic weapon. Here’s all you need to know about this item in Final Fantasy XVI.

The only monster that will drop a Wind Shard is Garuda. This is during your big fight with her after the events at the stronghold. You can later use the Wind Shard to craft Stormcry at Cid’s Hideaway.

Stormcry is one of the best early-game swords in Final Fantasy 16 with a 135 attack power and stagger value. Purple equipment like Stormcry can’t be reinforced or sold. You'll need Stormcry to craft an even better weapon, the Flametongue Blade, later on.

Can you get more Wind Shards in Final Fantasy XVI?

Sadly, you can only get a Wind Shard from Garuda once. We’ve tried both Stage and Arcade fights to no avail. Ratings also don’t matter. You can still earn a lot of useful crafting items though, like Writes and Meteorites.
