How to get the Silkie mount in FFXIV

When traveling in the MMO Final Fantasy XIV, there is no better way to get from place to place than by riding a mount. This increases your speed but also gives you adorable companions. But few mounts in FFXIV are as adorable as the Silkie, which may leave you wondering how to get the Silkie mount in Final Fantasy XIV.

The Silkie mount is obtained by using the Silkie Whistle. You can use this item to call the adorable Silkie mount to your side and go for a joyride. But this means you will first need to get your hands on the Silkie Whistle to summon the Silkie mount in Final Fantasy XXIV.

How to get the Silkie Whistle in FFXIV

To get the Silke Whistle in Final Fantasy XIV, you explore the entirety of the Sil'dihn Subterrane dungeon. The actual challenge is called the Dig Deep: The Sil'dihn Subterrane achievement under the Exploration and Duty tab. You must unlock all survey records of the Sil'dihn Subterrane, which requires going through all versions of this dungeon, including the variant, criterion, and criterion savage.

These can be unlocked by going to Old Sharlayan and speaking to Osmon at coordinates X: 11.9, Y: 13.3. Once you speak to this NPC, another will appear and give you the quest A Key to the Past. Complete this quest and make sure you meet the requirements of completing the main quest of Endwalker to gain access to the Sil'dihn Subterrane dungeon.
