A diminutive bird creature with blue coloring, the minion is a miniaturized version of the huge Blue Backs you can find on your Island Sanctuary. Unlocking the Sky Blue Back minion in FFXIV

The Sky Blue Back minion is obtainable for 4,000 Seafarer’s Cowries. To purchase the Sky Blue Back, you’ll need to first unlock the Cozy Cabin in the Island Sanctuary. Then, talk to the Horrendous Hoarder Mammet NPC, who will have the Sky Blue Back minion for sale. It’s under the Exclusive Items tab.

How to get Seafarer’s Cowries in FFXIV

Seafarer’s Cowries are the blue cowrie that’s obtained a number of ways on your Island Sanctuary. Almost every objective reward a small amount of Cowries, but you can also sell items, export materials, and complete daily challenges to obtain more. However, as Seafarer’s Cowries are also the currency used to upgrade your Island Sanctuary, you might want to make sure you have a healthy surplus before purchasing any minions or mounts you might want!
