There are plenty of exciting achievements to conquer in Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit, and perhaps the most challenging among them is Hide and Seek World Champion, where you need to flex your hiding skills to the max. If you're finding yourself stumped, here's our handy guide for how to get Hide and Seek World Champion achievement in FNAF: Into the Pit.
Tips for getting Hide and Seek World Champ in FNAF Into the Pit
The Hide and Seek World Champ achievement in Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit has proven to be one of the most elusive achievements for even the franchise's most devoted players. While the gist of the challenge seems simple enough, there are a few things to keep in mind when keeping out of sight.
Must use each TYPE of hiding spot
To reiterate, you must use every single type of designated hiding spot in the game once for the achievement, rather than every single actual hiding spot. This means once you successfully hide under a table in Oswald's house, you don't need to do so in Freddy Fazbear's.
All types of hiding spots in the game include: cabinets, storage chests, vents, under beds, and under tables. The Golden Freddy suit also counts as its own hiding spot.
We highly suggest making yourself a check-off list of all hiding spots, so you can keep track of the ones you've done. This is easily done by clicking on your chosen save file in the Main Menu and choosing "Difficulty Preview" from the options at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down to see the "Hiding Spots" for both the Pizzeria and Oswald's House (as seen above).
What constitutes a "successful hide" for Hide-n-Seek World Champ
There are specific steps to take for your hiding attempts to count towards this achievement.
First off, Spring Bonnie must see you in order to give chase. You'll know this when he screams at Oswald and the music changes.
When Oswald hides, a QTE mini-game (e.g. - swatting spiders, staying out of sight, holding breath) must happen. If this doesn't occur, it won't count towards the achievement.
Finally, of course, stay alive and hidden until Spring Bonnie leaves the area.
Bait Spring Bonnie one room away from your chosen hiding spot
When you decide which hiding spot you want to use in either Oswald's House or the Pizzeria, the most effective and safe way to do this is by catching Spring Bonnie's attention one room away from it.
To do this, you'll want to activate a noisemaker one room over from your hiding spot to lure Spring Bonnie over. Stay there, and when you see a door to the room shake repeatedly, that means he's about to come bursting in so make sure you're ready to flee to the hiding spot room. But don't do so until he enters AND screams at Oswald, to ensure he's been spotted (as seen above).
For example, if you want to hide under the dining table in Oswald's House, bait Spring Bonnie from the Kitchen by activating the Blender on the counter and then run into the Dining Room to hide once Spring Bonnie gives chase.
The difficulty you choose matters
This achievement can be done on any difficulty EXCEPT for Nightmare, as not all types of hiding spots will be available to use on that difficulty. The quickest and easiest way to get this done is on Creepy difficulty, where you have all possible hiding options available to Oswald in both areas.
All hiding spot locations in FNAF Into the Pit (Map)
All hiding spots in Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit are found in two of the game's five locations: Oswald's House and Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria (not Jeff's!). As noted before, there are different types of hiding spots, and for this achievement, you need to complete a successful hide in each of them at least once.
Also remember, once you complete one type of hiding spot in Oswald's House, you don't need to do so again at Freddy Fazbear's.
The rooms that don't have hiding spots on ANY difficulty include: The Living Room and Kitchen at Oswald's House, and the Arcade, Security Room, and Backstage at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
Below we've provided the locations of all the known hiding spots in the game with the in-game maps as a helpful visual, and tips for baiting Spring Bonnie around each one.
Side Note: The Cabinet hiding spot in the Kitchen of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza won't become available until you've progressed to at least Night 3.
All hiding spots in Oswald's House
There is one of each type of hiding spot available in Oswald's House, and they are ALL available starting on Night 1 when you have the "Call Mom" objective. If you want to knock at least most of these out from the start you easily can. We recommend first collecting all of the spare Batteries in the house, so you have plenty on hand for noisemakers.
As mentioned previously, baiting Spring Bonnie one room away from your chosen hiding spot is the most effective way to complete a "successful hide". Therefore, we recommend the following strategies for each of these:
- Storage Chest in Attic - Bait Spring Bonnie in Hallway 1 with the Vacuum Cleaner before running up the Attic stairs.
- Oswald's Bed - Bait Spring Bonnie in Hallway 2 using the Sewing Machine before running into Oswald's Room.
- Parents' Bed - Bait Spring Bonnie in Hallway 2 using the Sewing Machine. The "Call Mom" objective that requires you to hide under the bed during Night 1 does NOT count.
- Hallway 1 Cabinet - Bait Spring Bonnie from either the Dining Room or Hallway 2 (Sewing Machine).
- Hallway 2 Cabinet - Bait Spring Bonnie from either Hallway 1 (with Vacuum Cleaner) or the Kitchen (Blender).
- Dining Table in Dining Room - Bait Spring Bonnie from either the Living Room (TV), Hallway 1 (Vacuum Cleaner), or the Kitchen (Blender).
- Storage Chest in Basement - Bait Spring Bonnie from the Kitchen.
All hiding spots in Pizzeria (Freddy Fazbear's)
There is also one of each type of hiding spot in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza if you happen to miss any in Oswald's House. Also, this is the only place where you can complete a Vent hiding spot, as well as the Golden Freddy suit.
We suggest completing hiding spots here as early in the game as possible before Freddy, Chica, and Bonnie start patrolling as well.
As mentioned previously, baiting Spring Bonnie one room away from your chosen hiding spot is the most effective way to complete a "successful hide". Chica's "alarm system" can prove useful in certain situations for leading Spring Bonnie around, but since her location is unpredictable later on, she may not be the most reliable tool.
We recommend the following strategies for each of these:
- Entrance Vent - Bait Spring Bonnie from the Dining Area.
- Any Tables in the Dining Area - Bait Spring Bonnie from the Entrance, the Ball Pit, or the Party Hallway. The Entrance can give you the most leeway for hiding under a table at the opposite end of the room.
- Storage Chest in Basement - Arguably the most difficult. Bait Spring Bonnie preferably from the Dining Area, to give yourself more distance. You can try Backstage as well, but be quick!
- Golden Freddy suit in Storage Room - Bait Spring Bonnie from the Party Hallway.
- Vent in Storage Room - Bait Spring Bonnie from the Party Hallway.
- Vent in Party Hallway - Bait Spring Bonnie from either the Dining Area (preferred) or the Storage Room.
- Table in Party Hallway - Bait Spring Bonnie from either the Dining Area (preferred) or the Storage Room.
