Fortnite doesn't shy away from crossovers and Squid Game is the next major one that is set to arrive in the game.
With each crossover, the developers introduce new items and cosmetics, and this one isn't going to be any different. There's also a fresh map that they're adding, so you'll be able to target this mode specifically, for as long as the event is active. Here's everything that Epic Games has revealed about the Fortnite x Squid Game crossover.
Fortnite x Squid Game Crossover Release Date
According to the official Fortnite account on X, the Squid Game crossover is releasing on Friday, June 27. The developers haven't mentioned any specific time for when the event is releasing, but it's likely that it'll launch following a short hotfix. The Summer Event is also releasing on the same date, so you can participate in both simultaneously.
Over the course of the Fortnite x Squid Game event, you can purchase cosmetics associated with the show for the duration that the collaboration is live. Popular cosmetics including the Guard skins will also be available in the Fortnite Item Shop.
New Squid Grounds Map
As a part of this crossover, Epic Games is adding a new Squid Grounds map to the Reload Royale mode. So far, no other Fortnite collaboration has received an entire map. And yes, the devs have added different POIs during different crossovers, but they've never added an entire map.
Expect to see some challenges similar to Red Light Green Light too. Prior to this, there used to be a very popular Squid Game map in the creative mode, but Epic Games apparently DMCA'd that to make way for their crossover map. Here are the POIs that you will see on the map:

- Affluent Arrivals
- Costly Condos
- Designer Docks
- Hectic Hedges
- Manager’s Meals
- Phoney Crossroads
- Player’s Power
- Red Greens
- Square Meals
- The Labyrinth
Will There Be Any Free Cosmetics During the Event?
Since the Summer Event will be running alongside this crossover, it's likely that there's not going to be any free cosmetic with this. Yes, there are a few wraps and loading screens that you can earn, but don't expect to see any skins for the entirety of the event.
Usually when such events happen, the developers release a special event pass. The same might happen with the Fortnite x Squid Game collaboration too. But you need to purchase these passes to obtain the cosmetics included with them.
