The newest update for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has brought about exciting new changes to the competitive scene. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a newcomer looking to compete, it's important to understand the format changes to prepare for upcoming tournaments. We prepared this article to explain the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 new competitive format.

New Fortnite Competitive Format Explained

Arena

The competitive format for Arena isn't changed, it still supports Solos, Duos, and Trios. The hype has been reset and you will need to reach Contender Rank to participate in cash-prized tournaments.

Chapter 4 Season 2 Tournaments

The tournaments available for Chapter 4 Season 2 are:

  • Fill Cups
    • Trios Zero Build Fill Cups on Wednesdays.
    • Duos Battle Royale Fill Cups on Saturdays.
  • Victory Cash Cups
    • Victory Cash Cups for Solo Battle Royale and Trios Zero Build Sundays.
    • After Qualifying for Round 2 you can earn cash prizes for every Victory Royale.
  • PlayStation Cups
    • PlayStation Qualifier Cups on March 24 and March 25.
    • PlayStation Cup Finals on March 26 for a share of $230,200 USD.
  • Cash Cups
    • Battle Royale Cash Cups Duos on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Fortnite Collegiate Cups
    • Fortnite Collegiate Cups are exclusive to college students in the United States and Canada.
      • Qualifier 1 is on March 16.
      • Qualifier 2 is on March 23.
      • Finals are on March 30.
    • April Collegiate Cup
      • Qualifier 1 is on April 11.
      • Qualifier 2 is on April 18.
      • Finals are on April 25.
  • Console Cups
    • Two Duo Console Cups in a four-round format.
    • After qualifying for Round 4 you can compete to earn cash prizes.

FNCS Major 2

The FNCS Major 2 begins on April 13 and a lot of changes to the format have been made. The Divisional Cups have been removed for this season to allow more players to compete, though they may make a return in future seasons with a better format. The FNCS will be duos and will combine the Thursday's and Friday's points into one, the top 50 duos from each division will qualify for the Weekly Finals. At the end of each weekly competition, every duo will gain Series Points, and the top 40 duos with the most Series Points across the three weeks will qualify for the Major.

  • Weekly Competition
    • From April 13 to April 16.
    • From April 20 to April 23.
    • From April 27 to April 30.
  • FNCS Major 2 Weekly Finals
    • From May 5 to May 7.
  • FNCS Major 2 Grand Finals
    • From May 12 to May 14.
