The Icon Series in Fortnite is going to be adding another member soon, and that is the very popular YouTuber and content creator Lachlan! This is a pretty exclusive club that includes the likes of Travis Scott, Loserfruit, Major Lazer, Marshmello, and Ninja currently. Lachlan will be the third creator to join the series, with a batch of cosmetics coming out soon for the Spanish creator TheGrefg.
What is the Icon Series? Well, it's basically a way to bring either celebrity crossover cosmetics into the game, or celebrate content creators that have made a large impact on the game. I think Ninja exemplifies this the most with how he led the way by blowing up alongside the game, while bringing additional eyes to it by pairing up with the likes of Drake to play on stream. Lachlan is also a longtime Fortnite creator who has over 13 million subscribers, and is one of the most popular Fortnite YouTubers right now!
Fortnite and Lachlan announced the partnership on October 30th, 2020, with the Outfit, Back Bling, Emote, and Pickaxe set to hit the Fortnite Item Shop on November 12th at 7pm ET. It also sounds like from the official post on Fortnite's website that there will be some kind of "one-of-a-kind" tournament that involves Lachlan and possible the set of cosmetics. We will just have to wait and see what details emerge from that!
