Fortnite x 99 Nights in the Forest Collab Release Date & Everything We Know

Turns out surviving 99 nights wasn't enough. The Deer has found the Battle Bus.

Of all the gaming crossovers I expected to see in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, a Roblox survival game probably wasn't sitting particularly high on the list. Yet here we are: Fortnite x 99 Nights in the Forest is officially happening, bringing one of Roblox's biggest breakout games into Epic's crossover machine.

The collaboration was revealed as part of the teasers for Fortnite's upcoming Override season. Epic had previously dropped the mysterious phrase “SurviveTheNight,” which naturally sent players down the usual rabbit hole of FNAF, Minecraft, and assorted conspiracy boards.

The answer turned out to be much simpler: the creepy Deer from 99 Nights in the Forest. And yes, seeing a Roblox game become part of a proper Fortnite seasonal crossover is a pretty big deal. Here's everything we currently know about this collab.

When Does Fortnite x 99 Nights in the Forest Release?

The Fortnite x 99 Nights in the Forest collaboration is expected to arrive with Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override on August 20, 2026. Epic's current Fortnite page also confirms that Chapter 7 Season 3 ends on August 20. What we don't have yet is a separate release time specifically for the 99 Nights content.

At the moment, Epic has only teased the crossover as part of the upcoming season. That means we don't yet know whether everything related to 99 Nights will become available immediately when Override launches or whether its quests, cosmetics, boss, or other content (assuming those things exist) will be activated later during the season. So, for now, what we know fo sure is:

  • Fortnite x 99 Nights in the Forest release date: August 20, 2026
  • Exact release time: Not confirmed
  • Fortnite season: Chapter 7 Season 4: Override

We'll update this once Epic reveals exactly when The Deer plans on ruining everyone's evening.

What Is Included in the 99 Nights in the Forest Fortnite Collab?

Right now, very little has been confirmed. The teaser footage shows Peely fishing before The Deer appears nearby, immediately establishing the most recognizable monster from 99 Nights in the Forest as part of the crossover. Beyond that, Epic hasn't announced the full contents of the collaboration.

There is currently no confirmed 99 Nights skin, Item Shop bundle, Battle Pass reward, dedicated POI, weapon, questline, or Deer boss fight. Any claims about those features should be treated as speculation (hello r/GamingLeaksAndRumours!) until Epic shows more.

And knowing Fortnite, “The Deer is here” could ultimately mean anything from a terrifying map boss to a Back Bling that watches you judge your Item Shop purchases. We'll know more as Epic continues revealing Override before the new season begins.

Is 99 Nights in the Forest the First Roblox Game to Collab With Fortnite?

Well, that depends on what you consider under the term "collaboration." You could certainly call 99 Nights in the Forest one of the first major Roblox-to-Fortnite crossovers, but saying it is definitively the first collaboration between a Roblox game and Fortnite isn't quite accurate.

Steal a Brainrot already made the jump from Roblox to Fortnite in 2025 through an officially licensed Fortnite Creative experience called Steal the Brainrot. That project went on to become enormously popular within Fortnite's creator ecosystem.

The distinction with 99 Nights in the Forest is much more interesting. Rather than simply becoming a licensed UEFN experience, 99 Nights appears to be entering Epic's own Fortnite seasonal crossover lineup, alongside established gaming franchises being teased for Chapter 7 Season 4.

Unless there's another earlier example that I'm not aware of, this appears to be the first Roblox-native game to receive this kind of official Fortnite Battle Royale seasonal crossover treatment. That's a pretty remarkable milestone for a game that launched on Roblox in March 2025. Well, I guess congratulations are in order.

Can You Play 99 Nights in the Forest in Fortnite Right Now?

As above, the answer is not that simple. Technically? Yes, sure. But officially? The answer is no. There are already multiple Fortnite Creative experiences based on the concept, including 99 Nights Into the Wood. However, its own Fortnite page explicitly states that it is not an official map and credits original 99 Nights creator Cracky4.

So if you search “99 Nights” inside Fortnite before August 20 and find yourself chopping wood in a suspiciously familiar forest, you haven't somehow unlocked the collaboration early. You're playing a creator-made interpretation. The actual Fortnite x 99 Nights crossover teased by Epic is tied to the upcoming Override season.

Will this include an official 99 Nights in the Forest map in Fortnite Creative? I guess we will have to wait and see (don't worry guys, I'll update the article once it's confirmed).

Why Is Fortnite Collaborating With 99 Nights in the Forest?

If you mainly play Fortnite and haven't touched Roblox since somebody convinced you to try an obby in 2018, the choice might seem bizarre. It really isn't. Trust me.

99 Nights in the Forest became one of Roblox's largest games, at one point reaching approximately 14.2 million concurrent players. Developer Grandma's Favourite Games built a straightforward but extremely effective co-op survival loop around gathering supplies during the day, upgrading your camp, searching for missing children, and surviving increasingly nasty things once the sun goes down.

Its most recognizable threat is The Deer, an antlered creature that stalks players through the forest and has effectively become the game's mascot. Put differently, Epic isn't collaborating with some random Roblox game. It's collaborating with an IP capable of putting millions of players into the same game simultaneously.

That's also what makes this crossover more interesting than the average Fortnite guest appearance. Fortnite has spent years pulling characters from traditional PC, console, film, anime, and music franchises. Now a game born entirely inside Roblox has grown large enough to join them. Roblox games usually copy Fortnite. This time, Fortnite came looking for Roblox.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override launches August 20, 2026, with the 99 Nights in the Forest crossover among its newly revealed collaborations. We'll update this guide as soon as Epic confirms the full 99 Nights content, cosmetics, quests, and exact release timing.
