How to defeat the Oscar boss in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1

In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, Oscar is one of the five bosses with a Society Medallion, and you'll encounter this character at the Lavish Lair POI. Defeating this boss can be tricky, especially with all the minions, so here are a few tricks you can use to eliminate Oscar.

How to beat Oscar in Fortnite

Oscar is a new boss added in Fortnite Chapter 5 and this character is located in the greenhouse at the Lavish Lair POI on the northern side of the map. This boss carries the Oscar's Frenzy Auto Shotgun (mythic) which can deal devastating damage at close range. Oscar can also regenerate health mid-fight, but there's a way to counter this tactically.

I have defeated this boss several times, and have a few methods you can follow to get his loot quickly. The trick with this boss fight is to isolate him from the AI minions, and there are a few ways you can do that. After getting weapons and shields, visit the greenhouse to start the boss fight. Stand near the doorway, shoot at the boss to lure him toward your location, and reposition quickly outside the room.

I recommend carrying throwables like Clingers, Shield EMP, and Shockwave Grenades, this way you can bomb the entrance when the boss chases after you. The Legion AI forces will chase after you as well, so stay prepared with a throwable item to deal impactful damage. Remember to keep a safe distance as Oscar can throw Clingers that can eliminate your character in seconds. Focus your gunfire on the boss to break the shields, and wait for the health regen.

Oscar performs a knife emote just before regenerating shields and health, and this is the time when you can reload and reset. Throw the Clingers at the boss during this period as it will damage the character once they have regenerated. After the boss regenerates its health, find a better position, preferably on top of the greenhouse.

Usually, I use the Grapple Blade or Shockwave Grenades to gain height in between buildings and did the same trick for this boss fight. Check the images above to see how easy this fight becomes once you get on top of the roof and shoot Oscar from a distance. Use an Assault Rifle or SMG to spray fire on the boss, and swoop in quickly to collect the Medallion.

How to get Oscar’s Frenzy Auto Shotgun in Fortnite

After getting eliminated, this boss drops Oscar's Frenzy Shotgun, a Society Medallion, consumable items, and ammo. Collect the mythic weapon and use it on the AI forces nearby to test it out. This is unquestionably the best auto-firing shotgun in the game, and you can effectively chase down opponents with this gun. It has a 12-round drum magazine, so you won't have to constantly reload the weapon. Focus on landing consistent headshots with this weapon, as it can eliminate opponents with a few shots.

How to get in the vault at Lavish Lair in Fortnite

The vault at Lavish Lair is located just below the massive brick house at this POI. However, you can only unlock it after collecting Oscar's Society Medallion. You'll find tons of gold bars, an epic chest, and a regular chest inside the vault. Along with this, you'll find a Mod Bench that can equip different attachments to guns.

I recommend unlocking the vault after you've defeated all the opponents at this POI. The best strategy is to collect the Medallion after defeating the boss and hide nearby as several players would wait to third-party the fight. Make sure you have rotational tools like the Grapp
