Fortnite's Star Wars crossover has arrived, and alongside the notorious Darth Vader returning into the Battle Royale action, everyone's favorite wookie, Chewbacca has also joined the fun. Unfortunately for our furry friend, he's been captured, and so if you want to recruit him, you'll need to find and rescue him.
Where to find Chewbacca in Fortnite
Chewbacca's location will be marked by blue smoke at the beginning of each match. You can see it as you're flying over the island in the battle bus and once you've jumped out. I've shown this in the screenshot I took below.
The location will change each match, but Chewbacca will be at one of the Imperial Roadblocks that have been added onto the map as part of the Fortnite x Star Wars crossover event. Don't worry too much about knowing where each one is. As long as you spot and make your way to the blue smoke, you can find it.
Rescuing Chewbacca
To rescue the wookie, you'll need to eliminate all of the Stormtroopers guarding the Imperial Roadblock he's at. The easiest way I found to do this was to open the Imperial Chest inside the roadblock building itself and grab the E-11 Blaster. It's got a good fire rate and deals decent damage, so you can wipe them out with ease.
Keep in mind that you'll need to be quick. A lot of players are currently heading to the blue smoke-marked roadblock. I had to eliminate a few other players who had also landed there.
Once you've cleared out the Stormtroopers and any other players, you an walk up to Chewbacca and he'll throw a Wookie Bowcaster on the floor. Pick it up, and start walking away from the roadblock and he'll begin following you.
If you want a video example, I've included a clip of me rescuing Chewy below.
For more on Fortnite's Star Wars crossover, we've got you covered. It wasn't just Star Wars weapons that have arrived, but two unpopular items were removed in today's update, and some players aren't happy with the Star Wars pass price.
