How to get Cerebus’ Gatekeeper Shotgun in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

Beat the meta with this powerful close-range weapon.

In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, there are a few mythic weapons you can obtain by dueling certain NPCs across the map. Cerebus' Gatekeeper Shotgun is one of the most powerful weapons available this season, so here's how to obtain this gun in-game.

The mythic Cerebus' Gatekeeper Shotgun can be obtained by dueling against Cerebus at the Grim Gate POI. In the previous season, you could also obtain Cerebus' Medallion. However, it has been removed from the game in Chapter 5, Season 3.

Cerebus is located southwest of the boss altar at Grim Gate. Check the map image below to see the precise location of this NPC.

Earlier, players had to interact with the boss alter to start the fight, but that mechanic has been removed this season; and the boss was moved to a different location.

However, this boss's fighting style remains similar to the previous season, where it uses the shotgun to deal damage. Additionally, Cerebus teleports around the arena to perform a close-range melee attack. Try to jump or slide away from the boss during this attack, as it can reduce HP quickly.

The best idea to fight against Cerebus is to fire from a distance using an Assault Rifle or SMG. Step on the green water around the boss fight arena to get the underworld dash ability. This dash ability lets you move a short distance quickly, but it has only three charges. Once you have the ability, move around the arena, circling the boss and firing from a distance to deal damage.

Be careful, as several players tend to land at this location to obtain this mythic weapon. My suggestion would be to obtain weapons and shields first before engaging the boss. Before starting the boss fight, Interact with the NPC to get a free consumable item, and select the Duel option to engage the character.

In Chapter 5 Season 3, you'll find new bosses like Ringmaster Scarr, The Machinist, and Megalo Don, and defeating them rewards you with the new Medallions. Apart from these three main bosses, there are a few returning NPCs available around the map from whom you can obtain special weapons. Cerebus is one of the bosses players encountered during Chapter 5 Season 2, and this character is still available in-game along with their signature weapon.

Cerebus' Gatekeeper Shotgun stands out as the most powerful close-range weapon in-game. Essentially, you can knock down and eliminate enemies with a single headshot with this mythic weapon.
