Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 is leaning hard on crossovers. From Fallout and Mad Max to an upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean collab, there's a lot to enjoy in Chapter 5 Season 3. How to unlock Wastelander Magneto in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3
You must complete Battle Pass Quests to unlock Wastelander Magneto. But you'll have to wait until those challenges are available in July 2024. Until then, you'll only see this version of a famous mutant in promo images and trailers. If you're worried that you'll miss out on this Fortnite skin, don't be. Professor Xavier's frenemy is too important to be released as a mere addition to a Mad Max-inspired theme.
While playing with post-apocalyptic trash vehicles sounds like lots of fun, Magneto is a centerpiece of the Fortnite x Marvel crossover coming later in the summer. What's more, I fully expect to see his magnetic superpowers as a Mythical weapon. It would be awesome to be able to squash cars and heave metal objects at enemies. But for that, we'll have to wait for July.
How to play as Magneto in Fortnite
What we do know is that you can play as Magneto in Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Festival, and Rocket Racing modes. Now, we only need to be patient and wait for mutants to come. I have a feeling that X-Men's arrival will coincide with the Deadpool & Wolverine movie premiere, which is set for July 26, 2024. As the movie is set to bring mutants to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's only fitting for Magneto to be part of that event.
