How to Jam at a named location in Fortnite

There's no wrong time to jam out!

The Fortnite Wasteland map has plenty of new POIs to explore, and what better way to rock out with Metallica than to jam out at one of these named locations? Here's how to start a Jam and the best spots to do it.

Fortnite - How to Jam at named locations

To complete this quest, you'll need to head to any of the named locations (which are all the titled locations on the map) and start a Jam. A Jam is basically an emote that combines the new Fortnite festival musical instruments into BR modes. Here's how to do it.

How to Jam in Fortnite

To start Jam, press your usual emote button (D-Pad down or B). Then, switch to the Jam Loops tab. Here, you can select a song to play and switch through any of the available instruments.

It doesn't matter what instrument or song you select. Start playing a Jam and let it play out while you're at a named location to complete the quest. If you want to get fancy with it, you can change the tempo/key of the song as you play or switch your loop to a different song at any time. The more people you have in your squad, the more instruments you can add.

Best named locations to Jam at in Fortnite

You can go to any named location to complete this quest. However, I would highly recommend using the Jam Statues to make this quest so much easier. The Jam Statues are in a few specific spots on the map as part of the Metallica event. These statues, when you approach them, will allow you to start up a Jam instantly rather than cycling through your emotes.

Jam Statue Locations in Fortnite

There are four different Jam Statues at named locations, which will make this quest so much easier and allow you to knock out your Metallica quests simultaneously. Here's where they are:

  • Lavish Lair
  • The Underworld
  • Pleasant Piazza
  • Mount Olympus

Once you get to these locations, rather than opening your emote wheel to start a Jam, just approach the Jam Statue. Once you're in the Jam radius of the statue, all you need to do is hold the emote button, and the Jam will start automatically.

As soon as you start a Jam you'll get credit for your week four quest, but if you want to complete your Metallica quest at the same time, try and stay at the Jam Statue for 5 seconds.
