Fortnite has added Vault Outposts to the Island that players can unlock to obtain high-tier loot. There are a total of seven Vaults scattered across the new map. Items locked inside these points of interest include anything from legendary weapons to healing essentials.

To access a Vault, two players must stand outside the locked door for a few seconds. This will automatically unlock the door and the loot contained inside it. However, there are a few workarounds to open the Vault door without a teammate.
Follow any of the following three methods to unlock the Vault cache solo:
- NPC Guard Bots - This is the easiest way to get the Vault open while playing by yourself. A couple of bots will be roaming around the location. You can down one and carry it to the front of the Vault for scanning.
- Random Player - Although this method is risky, you can work with a random Fortnite player to share the loot and rewards. Keep in mind that you may not find a friendly face every time.
- Jonesy NPC - You can hire Agent Jones for 95 gold bars and make him follow you to the Vault door. Players can acquire gold bars by completing the Bounty mission.
