How to travel 100 meters while flying around in a tornado in Fortnite

Round and round you go.

Tornados have finally been added to Fortnite, after weeks of speculation about the feature on Twitter. In the game, we can now officially see the news story about the feature. Contrary to what we know in real life, in game we're told that these tornados pose no risk to your character—we're actually encouraged to use them!

One of the seasonal quests we are tasked with this week is to travel 100 meters while flying around in a tornado. This is a simple task by itself, but finding a tornado can be more difficult that one might expect.

How to fly in a tornado

To find a tornado, there is only one piece of advice you need to follow: look for large, dark clouds. Tornado clouds in the game stand out against the blue sky (or purple storm). These clouds don't always have a Tornado underneath them, but every time there is a Tornado, there is always a large black cloud above it.

You can almost always see these clouds from hundreds of meters away, but the best way to find them is to go to a high place on the map, such as a hill or mountain. When you spot a Tornado, you need to move to it quick, as they disappear after some time.

To fly in the tornado, simply walk up to it. When you're close enough, the tornado will suck you up, and you'll float around its circumference until you're ready to glide out. To finish this quest, don't glide out of the tornado until it notifies you that you've reached 100 meters and marks the quest as complete. This quest does not count distance traveled when you glide out of a Tornado, so it's best to just let the Tornado carry you as it travels across the map.

Once you've followed the instructions above, the quest is complete!
