What is Fortnite OG Reload? – All Locations, Weapons, & Features

Ready to reload Fortnite OG?

We're getting back a taste of the OG Fortnite in the new BR Fortnite Reload modes, but what does that entail? Here's a look at all the OG locations and weapons included in Reload and the new exciting features involved as well.

Everything to expect in Fortnite Reload

Fortnite Reload is its own completely new game mode, meaning we won't say goodbye to Chapter 5 POIs or weapons. Instead, we'll get to experience all the OG goodies separately. If you're a Fortnite veteran, you'll recognize a lot of these weapons and places, but alongside them, we'll also get to try out a brand-new way of playing with unlimited reboots.

Let's dig into everything we can expect in Fortnite Reload.

All OG Locations in Fortnite Reload

The Fortnite Reload map is much smaller than the average map, but it's jam-packed with nostalgic locations from past seasons. We saw a few of these places teased in the trailer, but iFireMonkey on Twitter gave us a better overview of the whole map (and we added in the names of the places on top of it).

All the confirmed locations we'll get to drop at are mini versions of the originals to fit on the smaller map. There are also a few that weren't revealed in the trailer that appear to be included in some variations as well:

  • Confirmed Locations:
    • Tilted Towers
    • Sandy Sheets
    • Pleasant Park
    • Lil' Loot Lake
    • Lazy Laps
  • Potential Locations:
    • Wailing Woods
    • Retail Row
    • Dusty Depot
    • Snobby Shores
    • Flush Factory

All OG Weapons in Fortnite Reload

It wouldn't feel right dropping into these OG locations without the matching gear to go alongside them. That's why we're getting some of our OG loot pools back as well, with old-school Fortnite guns like the standard AR or the tactical SMG and shotguns.

You will not be disappointed in the slightest at this loot pool. These are all the weapons (and a few other non-weapon items) confirmed to appear in the Reload modes:

  • Guns:
    • Heavy Assault Rifle
    • Heavy Shotgun
    • Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle
    • Tactical Submachine Gun
    • Tactical Shotgun
    • Revolver
    • Rocket Launcher
    • Infantry Rifle
    • Lever Action Shotgun
  • Other Loot:
    • Grappler
    • Chug Jug

There are bound to be other OG items included as well, like Chug Splashes, Slurp Juice, and so much more. We'll have to hop in and start looting chests to uncover them all.

All New Features in Fortnite Reload

One of the biggest parts of Fortnite Reload that sets it apart from the OG seasons is a new unlimited reboot mechanic. Something they made sure to reveal at the forefront of the trailer is that you can reboot as many times as you need to drop back into the action.

How this will work is each player gets a reboot cooldown when they are eliminated. They'll drop mini shields, ammo, and building materials in addition to their full inventory and wait for the countdown. The cooldown can extend up to 40 seconds at most but averages about 30 seconds. However, if their squad mates get some eliminations while the player is eliminated, the cooldown time will be lowered by two seconds for downing an opponent and four seconds for eliminating one. It will lower even more significantly if their squad manages to wipe out a whole enemy team, at a full 10 seconds.

When the player reboots, they will be rifted into the sky, pretty much like a reboot van, but in the general area of the place of their death instead. They will respawn with an AR and 100 wood (if you're playing build mode; if not, you won't receive materials, just a weapon). They can reboot like this as many times as they need, as long as there is one member of their squad still standing and until it gets to the endgame scenario. After the endgame, when there is only a set amount of players remaining, those who have been eliminated will no longer be able to reboot. The game will carry out like normal with teams battling it out until only one remains.

Is Fortnite Reload Squads only?

The only way you get unlimited reboots is if you have squadmates still alive. That leaves the question, what if you don't have a squad? Well, you will have to have a team to play Reload. Yes, Fortnite Reload is a squad-only game mode. You will only be able to queue as a filled squad. You can play with less than four players on your squad, but you'll potentially be up against other full teams and risk getting overpowered fairly easily.

This is all we know about Fortnite Reload so far. When we combine all these items, locations, and features, we'll get a nice mixture of old and new. What are you most looking forward to?
