In Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 5 Season 3, you can collect various new weapons including the Nitro Fist. This is a new melee weapon that can be used to deal massive damage to enemies at close range, so here's how to get and use this item.
How to get the Nitro Fists in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3
The Nitro Fist melee weapon can be found inside chests and as ground loot while exploring the wasteland POIs in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3. This epic-rarity melee weapon acts as a boxing glove and holds up to four charges that recharge within eight seconds.
While this melee weapon is equipped you can perform an uppercut, 3x punch combo, or an aerial punch that sends opponents flying. The 3x punch combo doesn't use the charge mechanic, however, the uppercut and aerial punch consume a single charge. You can also use the aerial punch maneuver on the ground to push enemies back with meteoric impact.
I found this new melee weapon at POIs like Brutal Beachhead, Nitrodome, and Redline Rig. Most of the chests at these three POIs have unique weapons and items, but be careful as other players are likely to land at these spots.
There's also the mythic version of this melee weapon known as Megalo Don’s Nitro Fists, but to obtain these you must defeat the Wasteland Warriors’ boss Megalo Don. This boss can be found driving around the Sandy Steppes and Brutal Beachhead POIs. You can spot their convoy from a distance as it is accompanied by a War Bus.
The best way to go about this fight is to defeat the NPCs driving the War Bus, take control of the vehicle, and pursue Megalo Don. Once defeated, Megalo Don drops the following items:
- Megalo Don's Medallion
- Megalo Don's Nitro Fists
- Megalo Don's Combat Shotgun
- Consumables
- Ammunition
I recommend fighting this boss from a distance as they can deal massive damage at close range with the mythic Nitro Fists. Make sure to also pick up Megalo Don's Medallion as it infuses your character with infinite nitro charges to prowl around the map.
