Where to find Rough Amber in Lego Fortnite (Map Location)

It's not a desert mirage!

You'll need suitable materials to start crafting all the items you'll need for survival. Rough Amber is an essential material to have, but it can only be found in certain areas. Here's where to find it!

Like most special materials, Rough Amber will take some tracking down. However, you'll find plenty of it once you figure out where to look. This material is found in the desert biome of the map, Dry Valley. Since all world seeds are different, we can't show you exactly where to go, but if you look at your map, you can differentiate the biomes based on the color and appearance of the land. The desert will be an orange/brown-colored sand, usually on one side of the Grasslands opposite the frozen biome.

I found the most Rough Amber deposits up on the top of the canyon mountains there and they are usually in groups, so you can mine quite a bit at a time. There are even some deposits clinging to the side of the canyons. However, you'll need to be careful navigating up and down without falling.

Rough Amber is in a deposit that you'll need to break with a Pickaxe. However, you'll need at least an Uncommon Pickaxe to break through it. You can get one by upgrading your Crafting Table one time. You'll need the following materials to make the Pickaxe:

  • Knotroot Rod x3
  • Bone x3

Once you have the right Pickaxe, you can approach the deposits and swing at it to start breaking it. It will usually take three to four hits with this Pickaxe to break through, but with a better upgrade, it will be faster. When you break through it, the pieces will drop onto the ground for you to pick up.

Even after you get Rough Amber, you're going to need to take a few more steps to prepare it for crafting. You'll need a Gem Cutter machine to do this. You can build the Gem Cutter from your Build menu with these materials:

  • Marble Slabs x20
  • Rough Amber x5
  • Sand Claw x5
  • Sand Shell x3

With the Gem Cutter built, you can approach it and place your Rough Amber inside to start processing down into Cut Amber. It will show you the progress at the top of the menu and over the machine when you exit the menu. Once you're all stocked up on Cut Amber, you can start crafting some weapons and utility items!
