How to complete each biome area in Creatures of Ava
Each area in Creatures of Ava is full of primary and secondary quests for you to complete, along with your personal task of rescuing healthy creatures from the Withering infection that's spreading across the planet. There's also gathering plants for crafting purposes and discovering unique locales such as Censers and Statues of Anaris.
While doing the primary quests is always the priority for progressing the main story and reaching the other areas of the game, there are also achievements you can unlock for "completion" of each of the game's biome areas, which include:
- Tamura Grasslands
- Nari Jungle
- Antar Dunes
- Maruba Swamp
If you're aiming for that "completion" endeavor in all four areas, to our understanding, the requirements to do so are not extensive. First of all, focus on rescuing the specific number of creatures that Tabitha requests of you in each biome, which is done via the Teleporter Bots that are scattered throughout each area.
Once a Teleporter Bot has reached a certain quota of creatures, which usually is all of the creatures in its designated area (indicated by a yellow perimeter on the map), it will close up and leave the area. There are several of these Bots in each biome, and you do not need to complete all of them. Once you've rescued the creatures Tabitha wants, your quota is met. That applies to the area's "completion" as well.
The other main factor of a biome's "completion" is finishing all of the primary quests in that area. Once you've done those two things, the completion achievement for that area should pop. Secondary quests, which are still great to do, are not required for this.
How to fast travel and all teleporter locations in Creatures of Ava (Map)
As you uncover more of the map in Creatures of Ava, you'll eventually come across teleportation portals located at the human bases scattered in each of the four biome regions. As soon as you power up the base's nearby generator, the portal will become active and ready for use. As long as you have at least one other portal already activated, you can the portals as often as needed. You also don't need to be physically near them to use them. Simply pull up your map and choose the one you want to go to.
The more portals you unlock, the easier it will be to get around the vast map of Ava more quickly, as quests and other tasks will require a lot of traveling and exploring. As soon as you come across a new one, activating it should be your top priority.
Once done, they are denoted by the red markers on your map. However, be aware that at certain points in the game, regions like Nari Jungle will become inaccessible and you won't be able to use the teleporters in those areas (their markers will turn grey).
Below we've listed all of the teleportation portals in the game, in the general order in which you'll unlock them.
Teleporter #1 - Aleph Prime's grasslands base
This is the very first portal you'll unlock in the game, as you need to activate this human base to progress through the first main quest. The base itself can be found directly west of the nearby village, and the portal along with the generator to power it are both up inside the metal building.
Teleporter #2 - Antar dunes sibling tree
While you won't visit the Antar dunes until much later in the story, this teleporter can be unlocked very early on by making your way down to the southern area of the grasslands. You'll find it close to the sibling tree near the locked gate to the Antar dunes, on the edge of a flowing river. It's also directly east of The Weeping Rock.
Teleporter #3 - Scientific refuge
You'll find this teleportation portal at another human base sitting on a cliffside near the Nari Jungle sibling tree. This one can also be activated early by simply exploring the area and activating the power generator nearby. You will briefly return here, however, for a main story quest that will help unlock the gate to the Nari Jungle region.
Teleporter #4 - Giggling Waterfall
This teleportation portal is likely the first you'll find when first entering the Nari Jungle region. As its name suggests, you'll find it at the bottom of a cliffside, a few steps west of a nearby waterfall that empties into a tranquil pond. This will make getting back to the grasslands much easier, so activate this one as soon as you find it.
Teleporter #5 - Aleph Prime's jungle base
This second teleportation portal in the Nari Jungle is found inside the abandoned Aleph Prime base near Talacan village. To power it up along with the rest of the base, you'll need to maneuver around to the top of the building. To get there, head in the general direction of Talacan and walk along the bright green catwalk path until you see a different cliff path to your right.
Climb and navigate along that path until it takes you around to the top backside of the Aleph Prime base, where the power generator will be. Turn it on and head through the double doors to your right, and the teleporter should be ready for use.
Teleporter #6 - Roots temporary station
This next portal in Nari Jungle is found south of the Sea of trees viewpoint, just past the wide open temple entrance area that's full of blinder plants that spray black ink if you venture too close to them. This one is superbly easy to activate as the power generator is right next to the portal itself.
Teleporter #7 - Marsh of Shine
This teleportation portal is found further in Nari Jungle in the Marsh of Shine area, which is to the far east. Upon reaching that area, run straight ahead until you see the deactivated portal sitting on a stone platform to your left.
To reach it, you'll need to tame and connect with one of the nearby Yekembo creatures, who are capable of crushing and moving large, heavy objects. In this case, you'll need it to push the block decorated with glowing blue cracks towards the stone platform. Once done, climb up to the platform and run down the stairs behind the portal. The power generator will be down there for you to switch on. Presto, new portal!
Teleporter #8 - Parent Tree
As its name suggests, this teleportation portal is found in the vicinity of the Parent Tree in the Nari Jungle, far to the east. To reach it, you'll first need to tame and connect with a Zard to run up the creature path and use its claw attack to knock down the bridge into place. Then tame and connect with a Yekembo, run it into the ruins, and have it push the blue striped block nearby into the gap to create a bridge.
The teleporter will be in the first room of the ruins, along with the power generator to run it. Get it turned on so you have another shortcut within Nari Jungle.
Teleporter #9 - Aleph Prime's study center
This is likely the first teleportation portal you run into in the Maruba Swamp, as it's found while doing the "Memories of those lost" main story quest. It's located inside the main building at the Aleph Prime study center, and you can remotely power it up from outside via the power generator on the left side of the site, near the hangar.
Teleporter #10 - Swamp teleport secondary station
This next teleport in the Maruba Swamp is found east of the Swamp gate, where you first enter the region. However, you won't be able to access this specific area until you locate Michael Dupont's files at the Aleph Prime study center and get going on the "Finding Tri'lo" main story quest. Once there, simply turn on the power generator to the left and the portal will come to life.
Teleporter #11 - Great Ruins
The first teleporter in the Antar Dunes is found directly south of the Naam camp by the Dunes gate. To reach it you'll need to tame a Gelgo nearby and have it push the blue-striped block toward the broken pillar. Hop across to see a deactivated teleport portal and a Withering blossom you can get rid of. That will reveal a much easier route of access.
The power generator can be found nearby in the blue dome to the left. Once that's turned on, the portal will be up and running.
How to destroy Yellow Witherblossoms
As you traverse the different areas of Ava, you'll soon notice that certain Witherblossoms are stronger and harder to destroy, even when you try to use the Nafitar staff on them. While the red Witherblossoms you encounter first in the game can be cleared as soon as you obtain the staff, the bright yellow Witherblossoms require a unique power.
As you progress through the game's main story, Nim'ar will eventually bring you to a temple in the grasslands that contains another Sagestone. Complete the mosaic puzzle inside it, and your Nafitar will be bestowed with a new power called Krist.
With Krist, you can approach any yellow Witherblossom, connect the Nafitar's beam to it, and use the Krist ability to destroy it. This ability can also be upgraded with your acquired Skill Points.
All creatures and how to tame them in Creatures of Ava
There are a total of 21 creatures to discover, tame, and rescue in each of the game's four biomes. To tame the creatures in a specific biome, you first need to learn the flute song for that respective area. Once you do, you'll be able to approach and tame them by playing their song calls back at them on your flute.
Once you've successfully tamed various creatures, you'll be able to briefly connect to them and control their movements while playing the flute. Each creature has its own set of unique abilities that it can use to reach areas that Vic can't, unblock/reveal new pathways, or dig up treasures. Knowing what these different creatures can do is important for progression, as you won't be able to reach certain places or items without them.
