Should you choose Japanese or English audio language in Ghostwire: Tokyo

The age-old question.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is a first-person action-adventure game that is set within the Japanese city of Tokyo. Due to the setting of the game, Japanese is the default language in which the characters speak, regardless of what language your display and subtitles are set to. However, Tango Gameworks actually gives you the option to change the audio language to something different.

What audio language should you choose?

The audio language that you should choose really comes down to personal preference. The audio language options were put into the game by the developers in order to make players feel most comfortable while playing the game without being distracted by a language they are not familiar with. With that being said, we have chosen to play the game in Japanese in order to make it feel more authentic with the setting of the game.

From the languages we have checked, the lip-syncing does actually seem to change with the audio language, so you don't have to worry about it being off if you choose something other than Japanese. It is clear the developers wanted to make their game as accessible as possible so that many people could experience their story and gameplay, regardless of which language those people choose to play in.

How to change the audio language in Ghostwire: Tokyo

Ghostwire: Tokyo will automatically set the audio language to Japanese, however, there are five audio language options in total that players can choose from. Those options are: Japanese, English, French, Spanish (Latin America), and Portuguese (Brazil). Players that are interested in changing their audio language can do so from the title screen.

When on the title screen, players can navigate to the options menu. The audio language setting can be found under the Game tab of the Options menu. This tab should already be up when you first open the options menu. Then, all you have to do is change the audio to your desired language and save the settings. You can return to the game, and all of the dialogue will be in the chosen language.

My name is Mason Moses. I am an entertainment aficionado, who spends more time consuming it than I would like to admit. I've been playing video games for the past 15 years and every time I turn one on, it feels like the very first time. Since I liked games so much, I decided that I would write about them.
