Where-to Find Water

Finding water isn't too hard, look out for streams, rivers, or a pond. The problem with these locations is that they are likely infested with parasites. You will want to avoid drinking straight from them before you can treat the water unless you absolutely need to hydrate.

Coconuts are the much safer way to get clean water. They are very helpful in providing hydration, as well as sustenance because of the edible flesh. You can even place an empty coconut shell on the ground to collect rain water. Coconuts can also be turned into a Coconut Bidon which will hold water and aide in the collection of water from various areas. You'll only need the Coconut and Rope to craft one. Coconuts can be found in palm trees, you'll need to throw a tool of some sort at them to knock them off the tree.

A bit of a more advanced option is building yourself a water collector. You can craft a bamboo or normal version, it shouldn't really matter which style you create, it's more about what resources you have available.

How-to Boil and Remove Parasites From Water

Coconuts are again useful for this purpose, because once you have an empty coconut half shell, you can collect some water into it and then place it upon a fire. This will boil the water and remove any nasty parasites that will make you sick. Once it's done boiling, you'll be able to safely drink it. A pot can also be used for this purpose, but it cannot be crafted and needs to be found in your play-through. If you're on the hunt, you can find turtles which can be stripped of their shell. That shell also works as a way to boil water.

Your other option is a bit more advanced, but you can create two different water filters just like the collectors. Poor the water in the top and make sure to have something below it ready for collection. The water will make its way through the filter and come out clean.
