Fastest Cars in Grand Theft Auto 3 — Definitive Edition

Push it to the limit!

From ice cream trucks to boats, there are various fun vehicles to drive or pilot in Grand Theft Auto 3 The Definitive Edition, but if you're here for pure speed—look no further. The cars that follow vary from fast to extremely fast and will certainly get you from A to B, provided that you have some really good e-brake skills and zero fear of tipping over.

Diablo Stallion

These powerful, quick muscle cars can be easily found right from the beginning of the game in Portland, but there's a slight problem with acquiring one—they only belong to the Diablos gang. Take caution when attempting to steal one, and be ready for a fight. If successful, you'll be able to joyride this beast at speeds that (kind of) justify the flames on the back.

LCPD CAR

It may not ooze exotic sports car beauty, nor is it easy to steal, but the LCPD Car is quick. Readily available any time you gain at least one wanted level, this patrol car will accelerate to top speed in an instant.

This is particularly useful if you're being chased by the cops and lose your current vehicle—wait for the cops to exit their car to shoot at you and quickly slip in and steal it. It's a helpful boost in a getaway situation that could be the difference between getting busted or wasted and actually escaping.

Banshee

A car commonly found in the Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale areas, the Banshee is probably the most accessible sports car you can find. While it isn't the absolute fastest in the game, it will accelerate to top speed faster than most cars and help you get out of some heated chases with the police or rival gangs.

Be careful when in combat, though, because the Banshee has little-to-no armor. Be ready on that e-brake to get through some tight situations.

Mafia Sentinel

A balance of speed and strength and a perfect car to have for a police chase—the Mafia Sentinel will take a hellish beating while going at racing speeds. This specific car is, of course, owned by members of the Leone Family Mafia, and if you try to steal one of these early in the game, you will get shot at immediately.

If you want to grab one of these without much conflict, progress through the story until you become involved with the Leone Family, and they'll be readily available at his mansion in Portland without you having to lift a finger.

Cheetah

The Cheetah is the most exotic car you can find in the opening area of the game, Portland. This supercar is extremely powerful, a blast to drive, but it lacks handling. Be careful when you're reaching top speeds with this car—things will get extremely slippery.

You could find a Cheetah spawning randomly on the street in Portland, but it's uncommon. If you progress through the Portland missions, you will cross paths with one that's parked at your destination for the mission called Chaperone, given to you by Salvatore Leone.

Yakuza Stinger

This car isn't available until you reach Staunton Island, but it's worth the wait if you're looking for some of the fastest speeds in tandem with the best handling you can achieve in this game. The Yakuza Stinger can be found parked and roaming around Staunton Island fairly commonly, but Yakuza members are driving them—proceed with caution.

Infernus

Another car that spawns in many places around Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale, the lightning-fast Infernus, could be the fastest in straight-line speed and acceleration in Grand Theft Auto 3 The Definitive Edition.

The downside: the Infernus could sometimes be too quick for its own good. Even the straightest sections of the map are littered with cars that you'll have to handle around, and this car can be slippery at high speeds. If you can find a way onto the Airport tarmac in Shoreside Vale, you can really open up the Infernus and have some fun.
