What are Safehouses in Grand Theft Auto 3 — Definitive Edition

Save your game, save your cars.

A game originally released in 2001, there are many players taking trips of nostalgia with Claude on his various escapades throughout Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto 3 - The Definitive Edition, and there are some who are just experiencing GTA 3 for the first time. Regardless of which category you fall under, you may have some questions that need answers.

Safehouses in GTA 3 provide function over substance—it's a place to save your game and stash cars, and that's about it. You won't find a detailed interior with easter eggs or a wardrobe selection in this earliest iteration of a Grand Theft Auto open-world, but players will find helpful item pickups (Armor, Health, Weapons) in the area to refresh Claude before causing more chaos.

As you progress through the story, two more safehouses will unlock on the map, giving you the ability to store one or two more cars in them respectively, but otherwise, they all function as a full-service save point.

Hey there! I'm Nick. I've been a gamer since I was a tiny lad sitting about three feet from my SNES playing Mega Man X and Zelda (A Link to the Past). I dip my toes into most genres but always find my way back to open-world RPGs and story-driven single-player titles. I love to write and consider myself lucky to spend my days working on content I truly enjoy.
