Slime Rancher 2 gives players a lot of features to choose from when starting out. A few of the most important options revolve around the game's difficulty and deciding which settings are right for you. There are three main difficulty settings to pick from, enable/disable Tarr Slimesenable/disable Feral Slimes, and what level of Player Damage to go for. The guide below will help players make an informed decision, but the best route is always to go with whichever setting is most comfortable.

Should I enable/disable Tarr in Slime Rancher 2?

Tarr Slimes can be enabled or disabled at the start of the game. Tarr Slimes result from a Largo Slime ingesting a Plort that doesn't match either of their breeds. These Slimes can really wreak havoc in the Conservatory and will damage anything around them. They will be aggressive to the player and other Slimes in the area. Out of the three difficulty settings, this one is the most challenging, so if players are looking to avoid any stressful situations in the game, this is best disabled.

Should I enable/disable Feral in Slime Rancher 2?

Feral Slimes are different than Tarr Slimes and are much less threatening. They occur naturally in the wild and would best be described as grumpy Slime. These Slimes will attack the player and deal damage, the amount decided by the third difficulty setting choice. They aren't a real threat, so it doesn't make a huge difference in gameplay whether this is enabled or disabled.

What Player Damage should I choose in Slime Rancher 2?

The Player Damage setting allows players to decide how much damage they will take while exploring the new locations. Damage can come from many different things, so this decision is important. Players who avoid the survival challenge will want to turn this setting to its lowest option.
