Hades 2 is the long-awaited sequel to a beloved roguelike action RPG and I couldn't be happier it's finally here. With the game out on PC, many are wondering if Hades 2 early access is coming to Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Is Hades 2 early access coming to all platforms?
Sadly, Hades 2 early access is only available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and it seems that it will remain that way until the game launches fully with v.1.0. So for anyone that doesn't have a PC and a Steam or Epic account, you'll have to wait a little longer until you can enjoy the trials and tribulations of Melinoe as she makes her way through the Underworld. (Which is unfortunate considering the amazing first impressions Hades 2 is giving even with an incomplete story.)
When will Hades 2 v.1.0 release?
According to Supergiant Games, Hades 2 will be in early access throughout the year, with one major update coming late in 2024. So the exact release date for Hades 2 v1.0. is unknown at the moment, but you should expect it at the beginning of 2025 at the earliest.
It all depends on how the developers are satisfied with the game and its progress. I'm having so much fun already so I'm hoping for an earlier full release. Some updates that they are working on include:
- An expansion of the story that is available in early access.
- A new region with new friends, foes, and other surprises (can't wait to find out what exactly).
- Cosmetic updates for the Crossroads.
- A new Main Weapon, etc.
Keep in mind that we might not get all of this in the big update that is coming at the end of the year. Some of the features might be out with the full launch. Whatever the case is, I'm excited to have my hands back on a Hades game and am looking forward to any new additions when they come.
