To put it simply, your choice does not affect the game or your character in any way. The only difference your answer brings is the way the conversations will follow. So when it comes to telling the truth or hiding it from Professor Weasley, you can make either of the choices and it won't matter. So during your conversation with Professor Weasley, she will be suspicious of your activities involving Professor Fig. Professor Fig will tell you to keep the details of your journey to Hogwarts secret.

You will have a conversation with Professor Weasley and she will say that, "My suspicion is that there’s more to the story than a search for belongings and an extended trip up to the castle." Here, you will get two options:

  • There is, in fact.
  • I’m afraid there isn’t.

If you choose the first option, then you will only talk about checking the ruins with Professor Fig but will not give out any more information than what's required. Professor Weasley will not inquire more about it and say that Professor Fig must have had his reasons to keep this to himself. But if you choose to lie and take the second option, then the conversation will naturally change. You will tell her that there is nothing more to talk about in regards to your arrival. Professor Weasley will simply let the matter go saying that its what Professor Fig said too.

If you choose to lie, then Professor Fig will be impressed by your talent of evading questions and handling Professor Weasley. But if you tell her the truth, then Fig will ask if he heard you talking about the ruins with Professor Weasley. In any case, Fig will reply saying, "Yes well – Professor Weasley is a brilliant, and astute, witch. It was right to keep the details to yourself for now."
