Does Icarus have a creative mode – What are Outposts?

Build whatever your heart desires.

Icarus is a survival PvE game that features base-building, resource gathering, and of course, surviving a dangerous world. This all may sound like your cup of tea, but some prefer a more relaxed experience. Typically this takes the form of a creative mode, so you may be wondering if Icarus has a creative mode.

Icarus does have a creative mode—this is called Outposts. This mode differs from the main mode in that it has no hostile creatures, timers, storms, or missions. Additionally, your buildings will remain on the planet when you return to the station.

This mode is better suited for players who want a more relaxing experience or those who want to practice. Outposts are great for learning how to build and to figure out the different mechanics without any stress.

Outposts is essentially a sandbox game mode where players can have fun and get better at the game. You can also invite your friends to your Outpost so that you can all build together. Undoubtedly all sorts of crazy shenanigans are possible in this mode, too, especially when playing with friends.
