Dawnbringer is an encounter you can come across during The Trader quest in King Arthur: Legion IX. It can be found in the cemetery sticking out of the ground, protruding from a grave. It has an exclamation point above it and, if you click it, the ghost of Sir Edgar will appear.

Sir Edgar will tell you that you can only claim the sword, Dawnbringer, if you answer his riddle. Four more ghosts will appear, one by one, if you tell him you want to tackle the riddle. Each ghost that appears will give you one line; from these, you need to deduce which of the knights is the oldest. They tell you the following:

  1. Harold - is older than Albert
  2. Albert - Duncan is younger
  3. Edgar - the same day as Edmund
  4. Edmund - younger than Albert
  5. Duncan - younger than Edgar

From this, you can work out that Harold is the oldest. Give this answer to Edgar, and he will tell you that you’re worthy of taking the sword.

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, Dawnbringer doesn’t do anything in King Arthur: Legion IX. It is a known bug that developers Neocore were unable to fix before release. As of the May 10 hotfix, Dawnbringer was still bugged.

According to the official King Arthur: Legion IX Discord server, the developers are looking at a bug where successfully solving the riddle does not result in the weapon. However, the reply also noted that while it is supposed to be a weapon, it is not the world’s most important relic so while it should be fixed soon, don’t worry too much if you missed it.
