The Falconer sub-class in Last Epoch focuses on using her trusty falcon pet to shred her foes while she dishes out damage through traditional melee or ranged attacks. In this build, I'll be presenting you with the information you need to make use of the Falconer's unique playstyle.
Best Falconer Build in Last Epoch
While the Falconer is heavily focused on dealing damage with her falcon, it isn't the only point of consideration for a build. That said, this build does make use of the falcon but focuses on dealing as much Fire Damage and Ignite DoT (Damage over Time) as possible, while the falcon provides supplementary support through debuffs and solid damage.
Best Attribute for the Falconer in Last Epoch
The Falconer is a sub-class of the Rogue, so Dexterity remains the most important stat for this build. Dexterity provides its usual potent effects to the Rogue, but most importantly, it also boosts the damage of your falcon through the use of a special Passive. I highly recommend you get as much Dexterity as you possibly can on your gear!

Best Skill Specilizations for the Falconer in Last Epoch
The following skills are focused on making use of your excessive Fire Damage.
- Explosive Trap - A skill that does pure Fire Damage; you'll want to take Trap Sprinker in its tree to effectively multiply its total DPS. Additionally, Clustered Explosives inherently multiplies the effects of Trap Sprinker, making these two nodes the most important for this build. Due to Chance to Ignite stats on your gear, Explosive Trap with these nodes stacks up your Burn/Ignire DoT very quickly.
- Cinder Strike - As your main non-mana using Skill, you'll want to take Fire Walker as it significantly boosts the damage of your Fire DoT effects based on your Dexterity. You'll also want to grab Flammable Toxin at the bottom of three. This node converts all of your Chance to Poison effects into Chance to Ignite when using Cinder Strike.
- Falconry - As the signature skill for the Falconry, this build will make use of Rending Talons to give your falcon a chance to shred resistances, apply Slow, apply Bleed, and apply Poison based on a portion of your stats. As such, Chance to Poison stats have higher value, though the main purpose of taking this node is to shred resistance for improved Fire Damage. Trained to Hunt provides scaling to your falcon through your global melee damage, bow damage, and throwing damage.
- Shift - This ability serves as your main form of mobility. Velocity reduces the cooldown, making use of it to reposition far more viable. Critical Opening forces your next non-channeled attack to critically hit, which allows for massive burst damage through Cinder Strike's most powerful attack. Finally, Shadowslip grants you full invulnerability when using Shift, which is incredibly powerful as this removes a lot of the need for positioning.
- Decoy - While useful for drawing enemy attention, this build uses Decoy as mainly an offensive AoE (Area of Effect) nuke instead. On Fire stacks Ignite on surrounding targets, while Short Fuse, Burning Oil, and Meticulous Construction turn Decoy into a massive bomb. Finally, take Backup Buddy to have two Fire nukes on hand instead of one.

Best Blessing for the Warlock in Last Epoch
This build makes use of Fire to deal almost all of its damage, and the Blessings you should use should support that.
- Grand Flames of Calmity - Provides a massive boost to your Fire Damage.
- Grand Flames of the Black Sun - Provides a massive boost to your Chance to Ignite on Hit.
- Grand Breath of Cinders - Grants you a large boost to your Chance to Shrred Fire Resistance on Hit.
Best Gear Items and Affixies for the Falconer in Last Epoch
Since Fire Damage is an overwhelming majority of your total damage, you'll want to look for gear with the stat on it in large amounts. There are also a few core items you should hunt for.
- Calamity - This helmet provides you with a large boost to all Fire Damage that comes from skills, while also massively boosting your Chance to Ignite from said skills. You can target farm this item by running The Black Sun with Unique or Set Helmet as the echo reward.
- Dragonsong - This bow provides a large boost to your Fire-based attacks, but most importantly adds two additional levels to all Skills that have Fire as a tag. This is a must-have item for this build. You can target farm this item via running Fall of the Outcasts, with Unique or Set Bow as the echo reward.
- Fiery Dragon Shoes - These shoes provide an enormous boost to your movement speed, Fire Damage, and Fire Penetration through Ignite. This is also a must-have item for this build. You can target farm this item via running Spirits of Fire, with Unique as the echo reward.
These are the affixes you should keep an eye out for while farming for the above gear pieces.
- Increased Fire Damage - This build makes use of almost entirely Fire-based damage, thus, this is one of your most important stats.
- Increased Damage over Time - The value of Ignite/Burn is very high for this build, making this stat a solid addition to have on gear.
- Increased Burn Duration - A higher duration on Burn means you can stack Ignite/Burn much higher than normal, making this a valuable stat.
- Chance to Fire Resistance Shred - Due to your main sources of damage all being Fire, being able to shred this element's resistance at all times is highly valuable to have on gear as it stacks.
- Increased Throwing Damage - The falcon makes use of this stat to boost overall damage, thus, you will want to be stacking Throwing Damage as you obtain it on gear.
Best Idols for the Falconer in Last Epoch
The best two Idols for this build focus on further boosting your Fire Damage and Ignite Chance while providing some resistance to Void.
- Stout Lagonian Idol - Look for ones that boost Chance to Ignite on Hit and Fire Damage. You can find this Idol as a drop as early as Level 11.
- Small Eterran Idol - Look for ones that boost Damage Over TIme and Void Resistance. You can also find this Idol as a drop as early as Level 11.
How to play the Falconer in Last Epoch
Your primary goal with this Falconer build is to stack up as much Fire Damage as possible on all your foes. This is done primarily through Explosive Trap, but as it costs hefty amounts of mana to use constantly, Cinder Strike is also a solid applicator.
That said, Explosive Trap and Cinder Strike are your most commonly used attacks. Your falcon will provide debuffs and additional damage through automation, so you can think of it like an additional DoT. Shift is to be used to avoid powerful attacks and positioning. Since it has a low cooldown, this can be done very often, making this build highly mobile.
Finally, Decoy is your biggest, most powerful nuke—this should be used when there are a lot of enemies on screen to clear them almost instantly. It should also be used on cooldown in single-target scenarios, such as against bosses.
