How to respec in Last Epoch

Respeccing in Last Epoch involves two main areas: skill tree points and passive points. Each has its own method and costs for respec.

Respeccing Skill Tree Points in Last Epoch

Skill points are earned as individual skills level up. Gear can also augment skill points. There are two ways to respec skill points:

  • For Gear-Related Points: You can reallocate these points immediately without any penalty, similar to equipping and unequipping gear.
  • For Level-Up Points:
    • Each skill has a minimum specialized level. Points can be immediately re-invested up to this level without penalty.
    • Points invested above the minimum specialized level need to be re-earned by leveling the skill again.

To respec skill points, open the Skills & Specializations tab (default key is S), select the skill you wish to respec, and click Respec in the upper right corner. Choose 'Remove Points' to deselect nodes individually. Note that you cannot remove points from prerequisite nodes if it invalidates your current skill tree configuration.

To completely reset a skill or swap to a different skill, select 'Despecialize Skill'. This action frees up the specialization slot, allowing you to choose a new skill with no points allocated.

Respeccing Passive Points in Last Epoch

Passive points (gained through leveling and quests), can be respecced by visiting Chronomancer Lerinne found in The End of Time or The Council Chambers. Look for the brain icon on the minimap to find her.

To respec passive points, speak to Lerinne and choose "Respecialize Mastery Point allocations." In the passive tree that opens, click on the nodes from which you want to remove points. Each point removed costs gold, with the cost increasing with the number of points in the node.

Important considerations for passive respec include the inability to remove points that would invalidate higher node investments and the restriction against removing more than 20 points from the Base Class tree if you have invested in a Mastery Tree.

Can you respec your Mastery Class in Last Epoch?

Your choice of mastery class in Last Epoch is permanent and cannot be respecced. This decision significantly influences your character's abilities and playstyle, so choose carefully. Here are also some important key points to keep in mind while you respec in the game:

  • Skill and passive points in Last Epoch can be reallocated to adjust your character's build.
  • Gear-related skill points can be immediately re-invested without penalty.
  • Level-up skill points above the minimum specialized level must be re-earned.
  • Passive points can be respecced for gold, with costs increasing with the number of points in a node.
