How to upgrade Spike Saw in Lightyear Frontier

In Lightyear Frontier, there are several tools required for farming, crafting, and other purposes. The Spike Saw is an essential tool required to harvest wood, plant fiber, stones, Aluminum, and similar resources. Here's how to upgrade the Spike Saw in Lightyear Frontier.

After completing the initial missions and restoring Pine Heights, you'll be tasked with building complex structures like Merchant Landing, Assembler, and Upgrade Depot. Building these structures requires materials like Aluminum Rods, Aluminum Parts, Aluminum Electronic, Polyberry Oil, Red Crystals, and other resources.

While some of these items can be harvested without upgrading your tool, high-grade materials like Red Crystals require a powerful Spike Saw. So, the first upgrade you want to go for is the Spike Saw Power I. Here are the materials you'll need to craft this upgrade:

  • Aluminum Parts - 5

To get Aluminum Parts and other complex materials you must build an Assembler. To do this collect the following materials:

  • Aluminum Rod - 10
  • Stone - 10
  • Plant Oil - 4

Once all the materials are in your inventory, open the build mode to place the Assembler. I recommend placing this machine under a Shelter as it improves material production. With the Assembler ready, you can now craft complex materials like Aluminum Parts, Frame, and Electronics.

To upgrade your tools, you must build an Upgrade Depot. Place the build schematic at a suitable spot near your base and collect the following resources:

Aluminum is rather easy to find and it is best to search around the Meadows and Pine Heights region. You'll find Aluminum Deposits (as shown in the image above) at these locations. Use the Spike Saw to break and harvest the resource.
