Loop Hero is a roguelike tactical deck-builder with many different and interesting mechanics. Like its story, some of these are not fully explained to the player and left to figure out on their own. One such mechanic is quests which may leave players wondering what they are and how to complete them.
Quests in Loop Hero are given randomly and only at the Village tile. They must first unlock the Village card, but they can acquire quests by passing through them once they do. This will randomly assign the player to kill a monster which a crown will mark on the map.
Completing quests are as simple as tracking down the monster and killing it. In battle, it will be marked by a different name when hovering over it and golden ends on its health bar. This is a stronger version of the standard monster, with increased HP and damage. Depending on which monster is selected, it can be a tough fight.
Once you kill the monster, you will automatically complete the quest. Quest monsters provide better loot for the player, so it is worth it to do them. However, if a village is destroyed or altered before you complete your quest, you will fail it.
If a Village is placed near a Vampire Mansion, it will become a Ransacked Village for three turns and will not give out quests. After the three turns, it will become a Count's Lands and give out quests and greater rewards.
