How do you get the Azure Wind Island Soul in Lost Ark?

Are you up for some challenges?

Collecting Island Souls in Lost Ark is a great way to get unique rewards. There are around 100 of them to collect, and each five will give you an item that can range from a unique emote or mount to a collectible Masterpiece segment or Secret Map. These Island Souls are sometimes simple and obvious to acquire. But others, such as the one on Azure Wind Island, are much more complex. So, how do you get the Azure Wind Island Soul in Lost Ark?

Where is the Lost Ark Azure Wind Island Soul?

First, you must follow the Azure wind quest chain that starts with Dying Horse. This is given by Sanar close to where you arrive on the island. As you go around the island, you’re bound to notice what look like small toy horses dotted around it, some very small, others a little larger. After several quests, you’ll complete one called The Meadow Fairy. Afterward, the smaller horses will sparkle and become active. You must activate all 31 of them and their larger versions to gain the Azure Wind Island Soul.

We’ve marked the smaller ones with circles on the map above and the larger ones with triangles. Before starting, check the songs and emotes section below to ensure you have everything you need to complete the quest.

The initial tasks: The small horses

You can complete these in any order, but you must complete them all to progress – and there is no indicator of this being a quest or marking how many you have completed. A tinkling sound effect will begin when you get close to a horse, big or small. Remember that despite the sound also activating near the large horses, you can't complete the larger horse tasks until later (see below).

After doing around half the quests, you’ll see a quest icon in the center of the map where the fairy NPC Arone stands. She simply tells you how well you’re doing and encourages you to complete the task (the quest is called Returning the Flowers).

Red circles: Speed trials

For these, you must get from the spot marked on the map to a nearby location in a very short time. Luckily you can use mounts on this island, which should make these tasks a breeze, especially as you can mount up before clicking 'Accept' on the quest. Note that some of these challenges have multiple stops before completing them.

Yellow circles: Riddles

When you activate these horses, an NPC will pop up and test you with a riddle. We won't spoil them by giving you the answers but don't worry, you can get them wrong multiple times, and it won't affect the trial's outcome in any way.

Green circles: Puzzles

Once again, we won’t spoil them, but they’re very simple pattern-matching puzzles. And again, getting them wrong will just mean you have to try again. You won’t be penalized at all.

Blue circles: Emotes and songs

For these, a couple of NPCs will appear, along with a performance circle. Simply stand in the circle and perform the correct emote or song:

  1. Song: Heart’s Melody
  2. Song: Song of Valor
  3. Emote: Sway
  4. Emote: Laugh or Giggle
  5. Emote: Greet
  6. Song: Heavenly Harmony
  7. Song: Serenade of Love (final – see below)

The final tasks: The large horses

When you have completed all of either the small horse riddle, puzzle, or emotes/songs tasks, the large horse task for that type of challenge will become available. The final speed trial (red triangle) will become available when you have completed all the small horse tasks and the other large horse tasks. This leads you around the whole island but is still relatively simple to complete when mounted. With these done, the quest chain becomes more obvious once more, and you can gain the Azure Wind Island Soul from Arone by completing her quest Buried in Flowers.
