Where to find free ingredients in Magical Delicacy

If you don't want to use all your money at once when you're just starting out as Flora in Magical Delicacy, it's important to learn where you can get ingredients for free in the game. Although getting rare ingredients is much harder, at least you'll have a surefire way to find common ingredients in Magical Delicacy without paying for them.

Free ingredient locations in Magical Delicacy

To make this guide as easy to read as possible, each ingredient that can be harvested from the game for free has its own section, and every location for that ingredient is listed below that. There is a screenshot of the place you can find each ingredient, as well as a short set of directions to get there.

Angelfeet

1. In the area to the right of Signe's bakery, use your Mist jump to reach the platform above you. Run across, staying on the middle platform. Once you reach a table with a cat, go a little further, and the Angelfeet plant is at the end of that platform.

2. On the left of Tauno's Hut.

Canyongrape

1. To the right of the algae-covered crow statue, where the birds gather together.

2. 1. After finding the Spice store, drop back down to the ground, shift through the tunnel, and follow the path to the next area. There's a Canyongrape plant on the second platform down.

Cloudberries

1. After falling down from the area to the right of the sacrificial bowls, you'll find a Cloudberries plant on a ledge.

Dandelion

1. Back where you originally started the game, down the harbor path. This area is accessible again after you have either unlocked the double jump, or gone through the Aquafarmer Huts area.

2. Drop straight down from the bridge in the Upper Market (left of the Town Hall building) and you'll land on a platform. The Dandelions are to the right of Colo.

3. In the area to the right of Signe's bakery, use your Mist jump to reach the platform above you. Run across until you reach the sword statue. Use your Mist jump again, follow the blue nighttime platforms up to the left, and there's a Dandelion plant there.

Emperor's Bloom

1. When you enter the Western Plaza, there's a cliff on the right side. On top of that cliff is the Emperor's Bloom!

To get to it, you need to ride the wooden elevator to the top, double jump to the right, and hope that you land on the cliff.

Faecap

1. To the south of the bridgehouse, drop straight down and there's a faecap in the corner on the right.

2. On the route up to Cassia's Hut, there's a Faecap in the corner after the second set of jumping platforms (above the door).

3. After you use the Wither Elixir on the first big vine for Sana (in the area above your garden to the right), there's a Faecap past it.

Flatworm

1. Follow the path up to the Upper Market from your store, but instead of going up and left to get to the market, go up and right. Until you get the Shena Mist jump, you won't be able to access this area. There's a Flatworm plant waiting on the first high-jump platform.

2. In the area to the left of the Upper Plaza, there's a Flatworm mushroom on the right platform, past the Fountain. If you jump up to the platform shown in the screenshot above, you'll find two more and a box of trinkets.

Foxglove

1. To the right of your store, double-jump onto the platform and find Foxgloves in the corner. You will need the Gardening Gloves from Sana to pick these.

2. Continue jumping platforms north from the above Foxgloves, and you'll find another on the right in the corner after the floating staircase. You will need the Gardening Gloves from Sana to pick these.

3. Drop straight down from the bridge in the Upper Market (left of the Town Hall building) and you'll land on a platform with more Foxgloves.

4. Drop straight down from the second gap after the bridgehouse. There's a platform at the very bottom of your fall, which has Foxgloves sitting on it. You can also go down from the first gap and just follow the path down and to the left.

5. In the area to the right of Signe's bakery, use your Mist jump to reach the platform above you. Run across until you reach the sword statue. Use your Mist jump again, follow the blue nighttime platforms up to the left, and there's a Foxglove plant there (next to the Dandelion plant).

Glisterbarb

1. You can find two Glisterbarb plants right outside Tauno's Hut.

Groundsprouts

1. To the right of your store, double-jump onto the platform and find Groundsprouts in the corner.

2. To the right of the Ryverfarer's Station.

3. Go down the stairs to the right of the Ryverfarer's Station, and instead of jumping down the blue platforms (only visible at night), use the top one to get across to the cliff on the other side.

Ironclove

1. After you've gotten your shifting abilities from Tauno, you can go back to the uppermost corner of the map to explore. Use your shifting abilities to get through the tunnel there, and climb upwards. On the way, you'll find an Ironclove in the right corner before you continue jumping across to the alternative Upper Market entrance.

2. In the area where the Spice store is, go to the bottom left corner and use your shifting abilities. Drop down into a hidden area to find an Ironclove.

Lizard's Cone

1. After finding the Spice store, drop back down to the ground, shift through the tunnel, and follow the path to the next area. There's a Lizard's Cone in the next area by the entrance.

Maw Blossom

1. Underneath the crow statue. You'll need the Gardening Gloves from Sana to be able to pick this ingredient.

2. In the area to the left of the Upper Plaza, drop down to the platform under the Fountain to find a Maw Blossom (next to the platform with the Shadowblade plant on it).

Moonberries

1. To the right of the bridgehouse, underneath the staircase.

2. To the left of Signe's bakery, next to the thorny plant.

3. On a platform to the left of the cliff warning sign (follow the path from the bridgehouse all the way across to the left).

Mudshell

1. In the area underneath Cassia's Hut, go to the left and find a Mudshell in the corner (on the opposite side of the two thorny plants).

2. After you fill the sacrificial bowls with the Mist and Ember Tincture, follow the path all the way to the right to find a Mudshell.

Onion

1. On the left of Ajea's Woodworking shop in the Western Plaza.

2. After you unlock the door in the Gardens (by using a Wilting Elixir on the vine plant to get to the switch), there's an Onion on the far right.

Redroot

1. To the right of Signe's bakery, next to the first platform.

Shadowblade

1. After you complete Shuya's request for an Ember Tincture, you'll be able to harvest the Shadowblade plant that you helped with the potion.

2. In the area to the left of the Upper Plaza, drop down to the platform under the Fountain to find a Shadowblade.

Snailnut

1. In the area to the right of Signe's bakery, use your Mist jump to get to the upper platform. There's a Snailnut plant after the statue.

2. In the top right corner of the Gardens, use your Mist jump at the top of the staircase to land on the platform on the right with a Snailnut on.

3. Above the pavilion of the garden, in the next area, there's a Snailnut right by the entrance.

4. After falling from the area on the right of the sacrificial bowls, go through the next entrance to find a Snailbut plant in the bottom left corner.

Thornberry

1. In the top right corner of the Gardens, use your Mist jump at the top of the staircase to land on the platform on the right with a Thornberry on.

Timbershade

1. In the corner of the Harbor area, below the staircase - accessed by using the southern staircase leading from Star's smithy in the Central Plaza.

2. To the left of Signe's bakery, next to the second thorny plant (by the entrance to the Central Plaza).

Twilightthistle

1. At the top of the area to the left of Cassia's Hut (where there's a cliff overhang). You'll need to go the long way around to her hut, rather than taking the direct route. You'll need the Gardening Gloves from Sana to be able to pick this ingredient.

White Longchute

1. Mosey yourself up to the very top of the sewers that you can access via the platforms to the right of the Aquafarmer Huts. You'll find a White Longchute there. You can also access this area by dropping down from the gap to the left of the bakery.

2. You'll need the Mist jump to get to this area. The second White Longchute can be found above the area with the sacrificial bowls.

Enjoy your magical and free ingredients so that you don't need to waste all of your money buying from vendors - because some of those ingredients are expensive! Remember to try growing some of these in your garden for even more free ingredients!
