Are Marathon servers down right now? Bungie's extraction shooter brings next-level protection with its revolutionary dedicated-server authority model to fight cheaters. However, with such delicate online technology, problems such as server downtime, outages, disconnections, and connectivity issues are bound to happen from time to time. In this article, you'll find the current Marathon server status, maintenance schedule, and connection errors.
Is Marathon Down Currently?
Marathon servers aren’t down at the moment. Marathon’s Server Slam open preview weekend launched on February 26 at 10 a.m. PT, 1 p.m. ET, and 7 p.m. CET. Currently, servers are up and running and mostly stable, with some connection errors to be expected. This is a free, open preview weekend, and a massive number of players is expected to rush into the game to try it out and see if it’s something they want to enjoy before deciding whether to buy it.
The game may go offline for various reasons. If Marathon servers are down, it may be due to scheduled maintenance, during which the game will be unavailable to play. If Marathon is experiencing an outage, the reason may be a massive number of players rushing the servers simultaneously, and the infrastructure not being able to handle them all at once.
Marathon servers may also be offline or unstable due to a DDoS attack or some other similar malicious activity. If there's an urgent bug or exploit that needs to be handled immediately, the developers may bring Marathon down in order to hotfix the issue. If there's a big update, there may be a short deployment period during which Marathon will be offline.

Marathon Server Status FAQ
The Server Slam will end on March 2 at 10 am PT, 1 am ET, 7 pm CET.
It's because the game is currently free (Server Slam Test), resulting in a massive influx of players trying it, overloading the servers.
It's because the servers are experiencing outages for various reasons (overload, DDoS attacks, etc.).
The next maintenance will be ahead of the official release and just before the open server slam test ends.
