Mecha Break Customization Guide – Striker & Pilot Styling [Release]

Learn more about Mecha Break customization, as it's all about the looks!

For a game with giant robots, Mecha Break customization options are surprisingly rich. Who would've thought that hunting monsters in style is so much fun? However, the customization can be a bit challenging to figure out if you don't know what you're looking for. Just like most cosmetics in other live-service titles, these aren't pay-to-win, so don't expect to see any gameplay-related benefits from these either.

How to Customize Your Mech in Mecha Break - Striker Design

Every single visual modification happens under the Striker Design tab in your Striker Bay. So, if you're looking to customize your mech in Mecha Break, here's where you need to look. There are five different components that you can modify, and each component affects your mech's visuals in a specific way:

  • Skin: Change only specific parts of your Striker to give it a certain appearance. Full skins aren't available yet, and it's unclear if the devs will add them in the future.
  • Paint: Painting in Mecha Break allows you to customize the color of your mech. You can choose to paint the entire machine one color, or you can selectively apply colors to specific parts.
  • Pattern: Patterns are nothing but decals that you can apply to your Striker's body.
  • Insignia: Whenever you unlock an achievement, you get a badge. You can then display these badges on your Insignia slots on every mech that you own. You have a limit of five Insignias only, so choose wisely.
  • Accent: This setting allows you to add subtle details to the colors on your Striker.

When you first start your journey in Mecha Break, you will have access to a limited set of customization options. However, as you progress through the game, you'll earn Corite, with which you can bid and purchase more cosmetics.

Additionally, you can always revert to the default visuals for your Striker free of cost if you don't like the design. We recommend that you review the customizations before making a purchase. Mecha Break also gives you three preset slots where you can save your customized Striker designs. The first slot is free, but the remaining ones will cost you 2,000 Mission Tokens each.

How to Customize Your Pilot in Mecha Break

Apart from your Striker, you can also customize your pilot. When you first start the game, you get the option to select from multiple character presets and customize them to your liking. Alternatively, once you've started the game, you can go to the "Pilots" tab from the main menu and then edit your character from there.

Your pilot has different parameters that you can customize through this menu in Mecha Break. These parameters are:

  • Style: Modify your character's appearance, from eye color to hairstyle, everything can be customized here. While the beta had more options available, most of the components are now locked behind a paywall.
  • Outfit: You can use different outfits on your characters, each giving your pilot a different look altogether.
  • Tattoos: Inked designs that go on your pilot's body. You won't have anything available by default, so everything here needs to be purchased from the in-game item shop.
  • Voice: Let's you modify how your pilot sounds in Mecha Break.
  • Animations: Whenever you achieve something in a match, like a triple-kill, or even become the MVP in a match, you get to show a certain animation. You can set these animations in this section.

Just like your mechs, you can save up to three customized presets in Mecha Break. The first slot is available for free, while the remaining slots will set you back 2,000 Mission Credits each.

How to Get More Customization Options in Mecha Break

The only way to get more customization options for your mechs in Mecha Break is by playing through the Mashmak mode or the ongoing extraction missions. You receive these as rewards for completing the missions safely. Additionally, you might find a paint kit or two by looting the bodies of your fallen enemies.

You can buy skins and patterns from the in-game item shop by spending a currency known as Mission Tokens. You can get these tokens by completing daily missions and through special challenges and rewards.

If you're looking for more customization options for your pilot, then you're slightly out of luck. The only way to get most of these items is by purchasing them through the item shop. Sometimes, you do get a few items, including outfits, by completing specific mission requirements. For example, you get the S.H.A.D.O.W outfit if you log into the game for seven days.
