Bush is one of the toughest characters to build in Megabonk. If you don’t get the right weapons and items early on, your run will end pretty quickly because he is a rigid character with limited synergies. But with the right build, Bush can survive the swarms and make boss battles short and quick. Scroll down to find the best build for Bush in Megabonk.
Best Bush Build in Megabonk - Precision Sniper
A crit-focused build is the best choice for Bush because of his crit-scaling passive. Sniper Rifle doesn’t synergize with crit, so this build prioritizes crit-friendly weapons. The Sniper Rifle’s high damage and explosions will be for the Elites and Bosses. See the table below for the weapons, tomes, and items you need to target.
Weapons | Tomes | Items |
---|---|---|
Sniper Rifle Aura Revolver Katana/Dice | Precision Tome Damage Tome Quantity Tome Cooldown Tome | Forbidden Juice Giant Fork Grandma’s Secret Tonic Demonic Blade Clover Slippery Ring Gym Sauce Boss Buster Spicy Meatball Battery Turbo Socks Brass Knuckles Backpack Beefy Ring Demonic Soul |
Why It Works: While it doesn’t synergize with the Sniper Rifle, this build snowballs quickly due to Bush’s crit damage passive, and makes every Sniper Rifle shot count. The Precision Tome will multiply both crit chance and crit damage, and the Forbidden Juice keeps adding a flat 10% crit chance for every duplicate you can get. Damage Tome, multiplying your base damage, will also provide a massive Crit Damage boost.
Quantity Tome increases the projectiles of Sniper Rifle, Revolver, and Katana (or Dice). More projectiles means higher crit chances. Giant Fork will get you Megacrit. If lined up with the Spicy Meatball of the Sniper Rifle’s explosion will make short work of the bosses.
Aura plays the role of a support weapon in this build, helping farm XP quickly early on and providing a last line of defense against the swarms.

This build is heavily reliant on getting the Precision Tome and the Forbidden Juice early. If you can’t get that, drop to a ranged-DPS build with ranged weapons. Use Charge Shrines and Items to boost his movement speed. Luck Tome will be a good alternative to the Damage Tome in case you switch. It’ll bring better weapon upgrades and items that’ll take care of the damage.
Bush Starter Weapon and Passive

Bush’s starter weapon is the Sniper Rifle. It can be manually aimed (not recommended) and shoots piercing bullets that can hit multiple enemies in a straight line. You have to get the Precision Tome to a level 10 during a run to unlock the Sniper Rifle. It scales with damage, quantity, and attack speed.
Strengths | Weaknesses | Passive |
---|---|---|
Long-range, Multi-hit Weapon: While it is slow, its long range and piercing bullets can kill multiple enemies if lined up correctly. Chance of AoE Damage: Marked enemies, when hit, will explode to deal damage to other nearby enemies. High Base Evasion: Has a high chance of completely avoiding enemy attacks. | Slow: Bush has low agility, and the Sniper Rifle has a low early-game fire rate. Tough Aiming: It can be good against bosses, but it is hard to control. Slow Scaling: Few synergies mean you’ll scale very slowly unless you get his best items. | Marked enemies will explode when shot. Gain +0.5% Crit Chance per level. |
Megabonk Bush FAQs
Bush is a secret character in the game that can be unlocked by obtaining the Sniper Rifle and killing Bush as a mini-boss in the Forest. You must find a ‘sus bush’ in the Forest, interact with it, and then defeat it to unlock the character.
Bush is relatively easy to defeat because of his low attack rate. However, his hits are fatal, so you would want to avoid those at all costs. Use a ranged weapon and get Moldy Cheese to poison him and finish him off quickly. Revolver or Firestaff are good choices. The most important thing is not to spawn him during a swarm. Once you find him, wait until the second swarm passes.
Bush spawns in random locations on all tiers of the Forest. You can mostly find him near hordes of trees and bushes. However, he does not spawn in every run.
